45 ft Cat 6 Unshielded (UTP) Flat Ethernet Network Cable - Black

Having survived being married for more than 30 years I've learned that it's important to pick your battles. Its all about compromise. I can get away with having computer equipment strung all around the house as long as I keep the wires neat and out of sight. While in most cases I try to use wireless for networking there are some instances such as connecting a NAS where a wired connection is more appropriate.While my wife was away visiting friends for a weekend, I commandeered an end-table in the living room and using my best McGyver impersonation I hollowed out the base and fitted it with an 15TB RAID NAS. From the back of the table came a power cable and this UltraFlat Ethernet cable. The non-obtrusive cable fit neatly between the flooring and baseboards along the edge of the room where I could attach it to the Gigabit Ethernet switch that was housed behind my wife's display of Precious Moments figurines during another stealth mission when she was away visiting her mother.The Ethernet cable has worked well providing Cat6 speeds to the NAS without the bulk of a large cable giving away the location of yet another piece of computer hardware. Thanks to products such as this UltraFlat Ethernet cable I have lived to see another day of married life while getting tremendous throughput to the new NAS-enabled end-table in our living room.

I have bought this product twice , so i will try to write a detailed review of my experience if it helps others in making a buying decision . Out of so many ethernet cables i have used from different companies , this has proved to be the best for many reasons , at east for me(1) First of all it is ultra flat and can be easily put under rug, carpet , tables cloth etc without raising the overlying portion( 2 ) it does not tangle easily because when the wiring goes through any twisting force during use , only that part is will take a turn but will remain soft without getting tense or extending the turns to other parts. It therefore does not create a pulling pressure on the end of the cable which is plugged into the PC/Laptop( 3 ) The speed is very good as it is CAT 6 which is newer category with sufficient speed capability for most users . I compared it with my two other/previous CAT6 round type cables from Belkin and eForce and the internet speed was the same if not better. Actually the internet speed fluctuates from test to test , so it is hard to exactly compare , but in general the speed remained in the same range(4 ) The cable is thin but still strong enough to withstand ordinary pulling pressures with daily use . My two year old son frequently pulls it to tease me but so far it has no signs of damage. Sometimes it gets pulled accidentally through my feet as well.( 5 ) There many length and color options available . I have one blue and one black .( 6) If needed for neat packing, the cable can be rolled nicely on itself in the shape of a disc which will be as thick as the width of the cable(7 ) I specially like the ends . They may look long in picture but they are shorter compared to most available Ethernet cables and are also thinner and slightly flexible ( am talking about portions which stays out of the Ethernet ports ) and after plugging in my Laptop , this outer portion of the cable's end does not touch the surface on which i put my Laptop because the cable wiring is flat and light weight and does not create a downward pull on the plugged ends which therefore stays straight in horizontal position . This minimizes the chances of the ends getting pulled out which used to be a problem with previous round wired Ethernet because the bottom side of Ethernet ports on my LENOVO U530 touch Ultra Book are flexible and opens like a lid if there is any outward and downward force applied on the ends of ethenet cable.

I previously bought a white cable that was ultra flat and 50 feet. This time I needed something a little shorter than that but longer than 25'. This 35' foot cable was perfect. Just enough to get to the place it needed to go with some slack without too much excess to pile up. The cable runs easier along the baseboard of our floor than normal round cable since it lies flat and doesn't tend to want to lift up or stick out from the baseboard like other round cables do. This cable also bends easier around corners. Another bonus is that since this cable is flat, I could add it to the bundle I already had tacked down with 1/4 or 3/8" cable clips. We have white walls & baseboards; I wanted to get a white flat cable in this length but I didn't search much before picking this cable (in black). There may be a white ultra-flat cable in this length, but I couldn't find one quickly. It mostly runs behind furniture so I don't see it, so it worked out for this particular situation.I used this cable along with a USB Network Adapter  Nyko Net Connect for Wii  to connect our Wii to our network vice trying to use the wireless - the signal was just too weak. This wired connection solved the problem of dropouts.

My old cable is a regular kind cable, and that has caused me some trouble because I need to connect to a router outside my room and it's an awkward angle to arrange it. And since it's so resistant to be bent that the connection from the router can drop randomly.So I got this new kind of cable. It feels heavy and solid, obviously it's well made. After arranging it basically the same way I arranged the old cable, I found it so much easier to work with, and the port is of good quality, I can hear the clicking sound when plugging it into my desktop.I have the feeling that this cable will work well for a long time, and the price is the lowest I can see on Amazon. Highly recommended.
