BYER OF MAINE Hanging Chair/Hammock Chair Swivel Hook, Holds up to 250lbs

This is a great product if you're looking to hang a hammock chair outdoors. I was nervous about hooks that used a single screw for mounting. And everything at the hardware store warned not to use for overhead lifting or suspending human weight. The sets designed for kids' swing sets didn't seem strong enough for a chair for adults. This Byer of Maine hook is pretty darn expensive but very well designed and made. I used it to hang a hammock chair from two ganged 2 x 10s on our porch/pergola. I had to be careful in drilling the holes - the slots in the hook base allow some flexibility - to make sure they were towards the centers of the 2 x 10s. It worked well. The hook seems really solid and safe. As a bonus, due to the plastic inside the ring where the carabiner hook sits, the hook is absolutely quiet when gently swinging in the chair. No squeaks or squeals of metal against metal. Liked it so much I bought one more for an additional hammock chair.Note that this hook will not work on a single 2x board - will require two 2xs ganged together or a 4x4 to accommodate the base and the 4 screws. On my two ganged 2x10s the circular base sticks out a bit beyond the width of the two boards - maybe 1/4" on each side. If that bothers you you'll want to install onto a 4x4 timber.

We hung my daughter’s hammock chair in her bedroom from this. We went through the attic to make sure it hit a stud. It’ has worked perfectly for teenagers to rock back and forth in.

I bought this so that we could hang up the porch swing in our patio and it works great! There was some slight noise initially when I was rotating the hook by hand prior to installation and a little bit of liquid wrench did the job. Installation was easy using the 4 screws and following the instruction leaflet provided. The swivel hook looks to be well constructed and hefty and I trust that it will hold up well. I also appreciated that the seller follow-up with an email to address concerns or issues if any.

We love this rotatable swivel hook for our hammock chair. We used to have our chair connected with a chain, so you couldn't rotate (the chain will rotate you back to your original position), and the chain connection made a bunch of noise when rocking. This swivel is silent, effortless, and allows you to just rock without having to use energy to keep yourself rocking (well, physics applies somewhere). We bought a second.The only con is that we have this connected to a 4x lumber beam, and this is a tiny bit wider than a 4x.

Its working fantastic with my hammock chair and the hanging kit is staying in the studs so Im not falling the two feet I am off the ground! I call that a win!

So glad I purchased this swivel hook!!!! I used it to hang our hammock chair. This thing is a beast!!! Very heavy duty and sturdy. The four screwsthat come with the swivel hook are very heavy duty too. The swivel makes zero noise when you spin. In my opinion this is the best option for hanging your hammock chair. It's a bit more money then the others but well worth it.

I searched the internet for hours looking for swivel hooks for a very specific application.This was the only one I found so I tried it out (even though it seemed a bit pricey)I've been using the hook for months and it's still holding strong and swivels with ease.(I purposefully broke off the latch for my particular application - it actually took an extreme amount of force to even break it though!)

Used for a hanging chair/hammock for indoor use. Very study. Doesn’t budge and hold securely.
