Buy anything else!! Not THIS!!!
Took a chance on this purchase and lost big time!!!!!! Magnet much to weak. Disappointed in the product and don't understand how this could not even stir water. I've been using magnetic stir rods for a while and nothing would allow this cross stir bar to work, NOTHING!!This has got to be my worst purchase from Amazon ever :(

Stir bar that you can use with nitric or hydrochloric acids...For use refining and testing precious metals.
Someone lost the one we were using in the lab where I was working. They were never gonna buy another one so I did. This place refined gold and silver made millions and wouldn't replace this magnet stir bar.... Anyhow it works great we used nitric acid with it and it held up fine. Way cheaper buying it this way in place of any lab a company would use.

made cheap waste of time
Doesn't spin well, made cheap waste of time.

didn't work well possibly out of balance
thought the cross design would be helpful mixing viscous liquids. when i turned the rate of spin up the thing went off center and bounced all over the beaker. it will never be used again.
