GP3-796 13W CFL Desk Lamp with Two Electrical Outlets on the Base Mount

I had been looking for a cheap, but not cheap looking lamp to use at my bedside since September. This lamp did not disappoint. It is adjustable and stays in place, small base so it does not take too much room, and has plugs so you can charge or power various things. I do not think there is anymore you can ask of a light at this price. I have my iHome plugged into it and still have another plug available if necessary.I think I saw some complaints about the plastic hood around the bulb. I actually enjoy the fact that it is a little translucent, as when I try to read a magazine in bed while using this lamp, the light can be a little harsh. I adjusted it so that the lamp is facing almost directly down at the bed and the translucent part of the lamp actually gives a soft light that is just enough to read when all the other lights are out. the only complaint I have with this, is that in order to turn it on, you have to turn the dial in the back. I do wish that it was a button or a switch on the base, but it is something I can live with and almost don't notice anymoreThis lamp combines style (at least in my opinion) and functionality for a great, simple lamp on your bedside.

A great light for the price. The unique dual outlets in the base of the stand is so functional. I have both my cell phone and camera chargers plugged in and ready whenever I need them on my computer desk. The light emitted is wonderful with an energy saving bulb. It replaced an LED lamp that I threw away a few weeks after receiving it. Am not disappointed now with his product. It is stylish, the finish compliments my computer desk, and the light hood reduces previous glare when flipped on. Product designers definitely have a winner with this Desk Lamp ! You won't be disappointed !

I shopped around for a desk lamp and this is definitely one of the better ones out there. I like the plug feature a lot, and also like that it is a very durable and functional design--attractive but not fru fru. Be forewarned though, this is not a room lamp and the way the shade and light are designed it focuses the light on a very specific area, such as a desk. That's a good thing if you want a lamp that you can use at a desk and not disturb other folks in the room with all the light, or if you want to focus your light on one area of your desk and not another. If you're looking for a good light for a whole room or office though, this is not it. It is very flexible however, another good point for its use. Lots of metal as opposed to the plastic of some others.

Decent lamp with a terrific, handy novelty (outlets) but they really just missed "great" by a little bit.I saw that the translucent shade bothers some reviewers, but I had no issue with it. Especially when I realized a quick coat of rattle-can spray paint could change the color and make it more opaque, while matching my style.The two electrical outlets are fantastic and I keep a USB charger block in one and leave the other free for future needs.Unfortunately, Normande missed the boat on the true utility of this thing.The size of the base belies the height of the lamp and it looks a little stubby to be honest. If I didn't have a stereo speaker to sit it on, it would not be able to point down to illuminate more than about a square foot of my desk.Yes, I saw the dimensions before buying, but I really liked the design otherwise so I took a chance and it worked out acceptably.However, if they had made this 6-8 inches taller, it would have deserved 5 stars and I would have bought several more as gifts.

I was looking for a lamp to use on an end table. At the same time, I do not have many extra outlets in the room where I need to use this. This lamp fits the need perfectly. The lamp itself feels sturdy and sits stable on the end table. Since the lamp itself has 2 outlets, I have my cell phone plugged in to one of the outlets on the lamp so that the cell phone can charge overnight. I also think that this lamp, for me, has the right amount of light for reading in the evening. I am even considering purchasing 1 more of these lamps for my home office space in which it would be very handy to have an extra outlet available to recharge my cell.

I'm happy for all those who had a positive experience with this desk lamp so much so, that they felt satisfied enough to leave a 5 star review. For me, it's a piece of garbage. My disdain boils down to the fact that the ON / OFF twister is useless. Truth is, that it mostly just doesn't work. You'll twist it one click and nothing! Click it again and nada, two click and it's nowt, another single twist and still nothing. 3 twists in the opposite direction and it's may be, may be, may be, not doing anything. Another click back the other way and it's still not on. Walk away, curse it's very existence, threaten jihad on the whole bargain basement lamp industry, then turn one's head slowly and squint at it over your should...and it just sits there. Click it clockwise, then anti-clockwise, then clockwise, then counter-clockwise just for fun and then the bugger turns on.I've tried it with old school, LED and whatever those bulbs that were popular before the LEDs became affordable and there is no difference between in it's ON/OFF reliability.If this this lamp turned on with a modicum of consistency and maybe the base was a little heavier to guarantee no tipping over, then it'd be a bargain at $23. But mine doesn't and it wasn't, so stuff it.

There's an inner shade and it has begin to melt, a co-worker has the same lamp and theirs has begin to melt also. I tempted to remove the melted inner shade but I'm not sure if that's safe. I turned the melted area around so it cannot be seen. The electrical outlets are nice to have. It's a good looking lamp too it bad it's soooo cheaply made.
