Normally I mix my own oil mediums and I do paint in oil because I like the aspect of oil painting that it does dry slowly. Sometimes though I might want something to dry a little faster and this is what I go to. It does dry according to the claims, even with the slowest drying oil colors. It does not dry up in the tube or change in any way. Because I use it so seldom a tube can sit for a couple years or more and still always be ready to use.Most times I use this without thinning and contrary to manufactures advice I do use it with odorless spirits (Gamsol) to thin and it has not compromised the integrity of the paint film. Do follow the 1:1 limit though. This is good advice for any medium.This is a great product to get acrylic painters off the plastic and into real artists colors.
