Trust me, it's better than FIFA
Ok, so the rivalry between this and FIFA is huge, but I will tell you one thing. The gameplay in this game is way more realistic than FIFA, The one thing that FIFA has on PES, is Licensing, Online Game modes, and probably graphics and animations. But in PES, the Be a Legend mode puts Career mode to shame on FIFA. The gameplay is much more realistic in PES also, while it might sometimes not look as realistic it certainly feels more realistic. The AI was very well made in this game, they aren't superhuman like they are in FIFA. I can play this game and win 4-0. Then lose 0-2. It's quite unpredictable. The Game Plan before you play is awesome also, you have so much freedom to play around with your tactics. And, there are plenty of international teams to play in PES. Oh, and another thing, this game won't make you nearly as mad as FIFA. Because this game makes sense. This game is very precise, and involves a lot of skill (To play it to its full potential). It takes timing and thought and is not just- throughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughballthroughball- You get my point. The keepers aren't amazingly overpowered, but that doesn't mean scoring is easy. The defense is much smarter, and shots and breakaways are worth much more. And as a side note, I'm not totally into the soundtrack, but that shouldn't stop anyone from purchasing it.

Much improved from last year's game
I played the demo and loved it but I was still wary that the final product may not be the same as the demo (demos of 11 and 12 were completely different from the actual game).Game modes are pretty much the same as last year with the exception of Club Boss which is now gone.New for this game is the addition of the Brazilian league (fully licensed) and the addition of 3 brazilian stadiums and all 20 La Liga (spanish league) stadiums. There are 50 stadiums in the game but you can create many more with the Create A Stadium option. The biggest improvement is the thing that matters the most which is the gameplay. Manual passing and shooting are great in this game. Use manual settings for a more realistic experience. The defending system has also changed a bit. You really have perfectly time your tackles or else the opponent will just skip past you. Also gone is the speed merchant attribute. No more playing against a team full of speed merchants in MLO.One flaw this game is the through balls. The CPU abuses the through ball and it's how you concede most of the goals against it.Very annoying until you learn how to defend them.Still the gameplay is great and very addicting. I can't stop playing it. You learn something new in every game you play.Anyone who wants a realistic soccer experience should get the new PES.

Hate it, less features than 2012
The menus are incredibly complicated and less intuitive than last year. The only reason I bought this game was to play coop multiplayer with a friend on-line. I cannot believe they took this out of the game this year. Very frustrating, I would return this game if I could.Game play is better than 2012, passing is a lot better. I would like this game it if was less complicated and had at least the same features at last year. This will be the last time I ever purchase this franchise.

Great game... not worth the full $60
Quick background: I was a huge of fan of PES last gen and followed PES since PES3. I switched to Fifa from 2010-2012. Got bored with FIFA and decided to find my way back. Here is a quick bullet point review of PES 2013PROS:1)The game has been fine tuned to favour tactics and not the "dribble through the team" strategy.2)Goal Keepers have improved so when you score a goal you feel like you earned it.3)Team Management (or Game Plan) is easy to navigate and surprisingly deep. The ability to reposition players, change position and tactics is something FIFA should have be "inspired by" and adopted4)Reworked skill move system is good but not over powered like Fifa's.5)Team-mate AI has been vastly improved as players make great runs and dummy runs.6)Defending has done a great thing. Give players the ability to Pressure & manually tackle if necessary. No choosing between 2 defensive styles, both are available and both can be used if needed.CONS:1)PES 13 was released with outdated transfers. The transfer window ended since Aug 31st, how can this not be implemented into the game or given as a Day 1 release? We have to wait till Oct 11th for updated transfers.2)Renaming all BPL teams (save Man U) is a pain! No German League and a number of International teams have fake players (Holland anyone)3)Physics need some work. Michael Dawson of Spurs was bodied of the ball by a much smaller Arsenal forward. Speedy players like Robben and Lennon still cannot outrun defenders... they WILL catch you!4) For some strange reason the AI skies the ball up-field to no one when they have possession and are not under any pressure. THIS is highly annoying.5) Most if not all AI teams play alike. Would be nice to see individual personalities for each team.CONCLUSION:A great game to own and a solid PES entry... but I would have felt much better if it was $40. Solid game of football brought down by lack of licenses for club and country squads.--UPDATE-----------I cam across through Google, a guy who has a good option file available for download that fixes all the kits and team names plus logos. Only the Tottenham Hotspur logo looks bad but everything else looks professional. This ads value to the game and gives you a glimpse of how awesome this game would look if it had all licenses.
