Perfect solution
My 16 year old key fob had cracked in one of the buttons snd I had taped it. This shell was a perfect replacement. All the buttons are fully covered and protected. It is a little stiff and buttons harder to depress than the original but may need breaking in. Removing the electronics and battery from original fob was a delicate task but found a You Tube with great demo how to do it. Great purchase.

Perfect fit, can't be happier! (Updated March 2020)
Update to review below: Bought 2017. Last year both cracked. So they both lasted about 1 1/2 years or slightly less. I am still ordering more as side by side they are the same basically as the old and I bet all you see on Amazon are the same. Coat is double now what it was but still a bargain. So just a heads up that they wont last a long time. I read the reviews and am baffled at the negative reviews and agree with the 5 star reviews. A lot of the bad ones are due to people who can't be pleased no matter what or they are not handy enough to accomplish a task. To people giving low ratings because a Mercedes logo is missing.... Really?? You are that vain that a perfectly working remote exactly like the old one except a logo isn't good enough? Blows me away. Who cares? There is no value in that logo. So forget every so Glenn one of those reviews unless you are as vain as them. If so don't order as it doesn't have the logo. Oh and mast one review said the new one has an oval red panic button and mine is round. How cheesy! This person is wrong. I checked side by side and the factory one is the exact same slight oval. Exact. Again, why would it matter either way? You saved hundreds of dollars over a new remote! 1. Received the remote. Opened it laid it beside my old one. They are the same minus the logo. 2. Pulled up a YouTube video on how to make the inside swap. 3. Slid out the key.bthen used the key to press the button to remove the battery tray. Then got needle nose pliers and grabbed the circuit board in the middle at a little slot. Pulled snug on it and it slid out. 4. Did the reverse, slid the circuit board in, then battery tray and key. 5. Walked to the car, tried it and all buttons worked perfectly. A little stiffer but it is new and that is a good thing to me as you will be less likely to Mase them in your pocket. Last was order a 2nd one to fix the other broken one. Then hand key to the wife. She was happy and surprised so my job was done. You can't go wrong with ordering this. Watch a good video. Oh and the entire job minus watching the video took me maybe 3 or 4 minutes. There is nothing to it. The photo is after the swap. Oh crap, no logo!! I can't have that. Haha.

Misleading Description
In the product description at the top of the page it states: "Replacement case that looks and functions exactly like the original". This is not true! It does not look exactly like the original, it is missing the logo on the back of the key. If you scroll to the bottom of the page in the detailed product description it mentions the logo is missing. But as they had already told me that it looked and functioned EXACTLY like the original there was no need to seek further information into the description. I am certain this is not the first complaint regarding this. And they are banking on the fact that the $3 restocking fee and shipping charges will deter people from returning it. So you are stuck with a key that DOES NOT look exactly like the original. This is misleading and certainly not the way I am accustomed to doing business with Amazon.

Just like new
The replacement looked like the original and replacing was easy. Glad I did this as the old remote was cracking.

definitely budget, but works
Bought this to replace the worn key fob of an older Mercedes. The fob does feel and look to be on the cheap side. Had to refer to Youtube to figure out how to install the guts of my old fob to this new fob. The fob has worked flawlessly for the last two months.

Perfect Fit
2002 Mercedes-Benz C240... I removed the battery holder, key and circuit board from the old original key fob and easily snapped them into this new key fob housing. It fit perfectly into the ignition switch with no problem. Vroom, vroom, vroom!

Nice Case
The case is ok, but there were no directions as to how to open it and put the electronics into it. I am afraid to break it, so I haven't tried using it yet. I don't want to break it.
