Columbia Sportswear Women's Armadale Halter-Top Dress

I absolutely love this dress! I am 5'5", 145 lbs and have a somewhat muscular build with a larger lower half. I am also pretty small chested (34/36A in unpadded bras and usually a medium in bathing suit tops). I usually would order a medium in dresses, but due to the reviews and vanity sizing of a lot of these sportswear companies, I ordered a small which was absolutely perfect. This dress has a shelf bra in which you can add padded liners. However, in the picture I am not wearing liners but I probably would if I were to wear it out in public. The shelf bra was not too tight at all and I could imagine those with up to a B/small C cup would have enough room (although it would probably show a lot of cleavage!!). The length of the dress is nice as it hits right above my knees. It could stand to lose 1 or 2 inches though but its not a deal breaker! The material is hard to describe but I really like it and I've actually been looking to find other dresses that have the same material! It is very light, packs down, and is VERY comfortable to wear but I would not consider it "soft" or "stretchy." The shape skims your torso area and is very flattering. The shelf bra is comfortable, and the stretchy part in the back of the dress allows for more give if you have a larger chest area. I have machine washed/hanged dry and it came out wonderful!The only con about this dress is the design of the chest area. I believe the "puckers" are to hold and accentuate the breasts. However in my case my chest is so small that it just kind of makes a limp pucker. However, when I do wear padded inserts (which I am not wearing in the picture) it does help this problem. Also, if you have larger breasts the neck ties may get bothersome after a while.Overall I absolutely love this dress and feel that I am going to get a lot of wear out of it! Dress fit fine. Ordered size small. I am 5'6" and about 140 and a 32 DDD. Fabric is very light and bust area has no padding, just very lightly lined. Would be perfect for a day outdoors in high heat-maybe the beach or outdoor concert, etc. Sadly, I did return because I just wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it except for a few places. I would also be staring fearfully at my chest (ready to cover myself with my arms) if I walked into air-conditioning (or if the temperature dropped) wearing this dress. Really, this dress is like wearing nothing-I mean that in a good way. If you need something to survive the heat then this is the dress for you. Hated to return it, but couldn't justify keeping it.

I usually wear size 6 pants and small tops - I'm 5'4", 130 lbs., 34B. I ordered this in medium. It generally felt loose and the top was way too big on me. I *might* have been able to make it work with a push up bra, but it would have to be strapless and the whole point of this dress is to be cool and comfortable. I love the style though, so I just ordered it in small now that it's back in stock. I really hope it fits better.

So I totally would've kept this dress... It's light and breezy and inexpensive to be Columbia. But I only have 34A boobs, and this dress holds more than that. Made the top look weird, no matter how tight/loose I tied the halter. Just wouldn't work for me, but maybe for someone else it would. It fit well everywhere else (I ordered XS, I'm 5', 100lbs, 34A), so I wish I could've kept it to wear on my honeymoon in Costa Rica. :(

Found this in a department store in a light color - prefer black for travel. The fit is excellent. I am 5' 5" with a full 32 D bust - I weight 128 and ordered in small It does require a sports bra - as there is no support and the material gives. The fit is flattering and would look good on many figure types with the slight A line skirt. The material is super comfortable and wicks away moisture. Could trek around in it, or use it as a swim cover. Lightweight and doesn't wrinkle. A good addition to travel or sports minded wardrobes.

I was happy for the other reviews because it helped me find a fit for this dress. I bought two and I am really pleased that I did. I am 5'5 157 and 36D and the large fits wonderfully, even in the bust which is surprising. The material is "swishy" I can tell that it is perfect for a cruise and humid air. It flows well over the hips and stomach area and doesnt cling. The fabric is very flattering. I think they are even pretty enough to dress up with some jewelry and wear to dinner or lunch. I bought both the Red Hibiscus and Black colors and I am very pleased with these dresses.

The dress itself is actually quite nice, it fits well, no need for a bra. I'm 5'4" , 135 lbs and a bit busty. The problem I have is they sent it to me used. I paid for a new dress and the tag was pulled off, but then stapled back on. It is obvious there were supposed to be boob cup support inserts in the bust of the dress, those were missing. Only reason I'm keeping it is because I randomly had some inserts that I shoved in there myself and that worked fine. If Amazon sends you a new one, you will be happy with the dress :)

If this dress came in 20 colors or patrerns, I would get all 20. It's quick-drying, I don't have to wear a bra, it's packable, and it's flattering on just about any shape. It can be dressed up or down easily with a scarf or jewelry. My husband likes it on me, and it's ideal for travel--walking around all day, going out at night, bathing suit cover up, or sitting at the beach or pool. I love this dress and hope they come out with more colors soon!
