My fiance loves this, fits nicely inside of her small pockets that are characteristic of women's clothing. length is about 4'' long. She was nervous of discharging the unit, i got her the test insert to practice with. I recommend spending the extra money to be able to safely test and get familiar with this weapon. Now we both have the peace of mind that she will be able to safely and effectively use this defensive measure. this is built sturdy, simple and it looks very nice as well, the safety functions perfectly it will not accidentally discharge, and is easy to operate quickly. Don't waste your money on cheep spray that you cant trust. the cost of this is well worth it, i would have payed twice as much for it, knowing that this will work the first time every time is worth every bit of the cost.

OK, so I’ve been on the job 27 years, right? And when i was a young rookie and got engaged 26 years ago I bought my then fiance’ one of these... no joke. So I’m looking at her 25 year old asp oc key chain thingy, and thought, Wow the paints wore off... cant still work after all these years...so I ordered a new one in bright pink. Then being so sure that the 25 yr old one was useless I proceeded to activate it, and, well.... stupid me! After decontaminating I realized that this was a quality product. I hope they are made today with the same quality they were made then. I’m just not testing this one!

I have carried this brand for years. After losing mine I did some research and still found that this is the best one on the market. It is nearly impossible to accidentally spray and because it is so slim and compact you can carry it on your keys which means that it is always close at hand.

Doesn't shoot far and has a weak cone, but the pepper spray formula is so hot when I lick test it it burns like sabre red and fox; much more intensely than mace and other brands. Also, the safety slows deployment, they should remove it and make the button harder to pushThe build is very impressive though, it truly feels like a maglite or kubaton. And it's invisible when making a fist so you can sneak shot someone. It's also designed to turn your keys into a flail, while holding the unit in hand like a handle you let the keys hang like a flail. It's much more effective than it sounds, you have A LOT of leverage when swinging like this.Finally, if you tuck the unit in your waistband and let keys hang you literally can't feel it or your keys and your draw is SO quick. This is no doubt a winner just needs a stronger cone.

Perfect size for a young lady. Only sprays about 3-5 feet. Canister itself is sturdy and hard enough to be used as a striking tool.

I received this product on 11/16/2017 and found out that the heat insert had already expired as of March 2015. I love the product itself but if I had known that it had been sitting on the sellers shelf for so many years I would have definitely looked to purchase it elsewhere. Anyway I gave this defender away as a gift but I also ended up having to spend even more money to provide the recipient with a new heat insert refill to make up for the expired dud that originally came with it.
