MM should be labeled CM, but good mm scale otherwise.
Okay, I don't claim to be an expert in forensics or metric measurements but I would hate to have to explain to a hostile attorney in court why my scale say's MM on the CM line. In other words where it is labeled 1, 2 3, 4, and 5, it is really a CM scale. Each CM is divided into 10 mm with the indices below so if your item is measured to the 5, that means it is 5 Centimeters or 50 millimeters long, so this is a 5 CM scale that's labeled as if it were 5 MM. Where it is labeled MM it should be labeled CM and that is how the official AFBO No. 2 scale is labeled. So having stated my complaint, I still rated this a 5 for the price and the usability. As long as you know the difference between CM and MM and that this scale is about 80mm long in both directions it is fine to use. It doesn't matter to me because it works fine for my purposes and for my photo measurements but I don't go to court. Hope you find this helpful.

Scale(s) in photography
Having used this scale for decades of crime scene photography, there is nothing better. It has withstood the test of time. I use it in photographing relics recovered while metal detecting now that I have retired from crime scene work.

Ok, I'll Bite
Not too much to get excited about here. I bought this for taking pictures of small things I was seeing at a friend’s house that has a vast collection of artifacts from the Middle East. I needed something for reference so everyone can see the size (a quarter was getting old)Very thin but very strong. Slides in a notebook quite well so it’s easy to store.I haven’t had a chance to see how well it works on measuring bites. So I can’t say much on that part but for taking pictures this works great.

A must use
Great tool that can be cleaned with bleach and reuse . However it is cheap enough to replace if needed. A must for forensic cases that end up in legal court.
