Schluter Kerdi Pipe Seal 3/4"

Not only have I use these in showers and bathrooms. I now use them for water, Spicket and penetration on the exterior of houses. I integrate these with water management systems that we use and they’re quite amazing for water prevention in the wall cavity. Fantastic product.

I didn't buy this to be used as part of the Kurdi system. In fact I am using HardiBacker that will be coated with Hydroban. It seems logical to me that the most likely place water will get behind your system is running down the face of the wall and then behind the escutcheon plates covering the hot & cold piping penetrations. Often times the hole is too large around those 2 penetrations for a good sealant application. So water is likely to get past those pipe penetrations, and then it is inside your wall. The rubber sleeve on this product fit just the right snug on my 3/4" pipes, and now I am free to make the openings in the cement board and tile a comfortable size without fear of leaking. My only wish is that they were $5 per unit rather than twice that. This is a great solution for a problem that some of us don't think about. That shiny escutcheon plate does not even come close to providing protection against water.

I replaced a leaky shower with a custom tiled unit in 2010 using the Schluter shower system (try saying that five times fast!), and was quite impressed. It's a very well thought out line of products that makes it easy to achieve a watertight installation--which is the only kind you want, believe me. Check out their free dvd or online video if you're considering a do-it-yourself tile shower. Yes, some of the parts can be a bit pricey, but I was able to get a good deal on the pre-packaged shower kit by shopping around the internet. I only had to buy this additional pipe seal "a la carte" to complete the installation. Note that no amount of silicone caulk can match the snug seal of these rubber-gasketed Schluter pipe seals.

This is a must have for a shower surround when you remodel/update. Fits perfectly over the shower pipe or tub spout. Easy to attach to the new backer board using thin set. Only adds a couple of millimeters thickness to the wall.

It was an original Schluter part, at a discount price. It was used for a shower renovation.

My only problem with this product was that I had to remove the galvanized extension pipe that the plumber had installed and put the shower extension arm on in order for the 3/4" opening to slide into place. Otherwise no complaints. It arrived from the seller right on time in perfect condition.

works for wall 'shower' to reduce the risk of water penetrating your Kerdi shower around your shower heads outlet. hope rubber holds up well.

Easy to install, same material as my Kerdi band for seams. A bit pricey for what you get but not many options as good.
