Greek Orthodox Easter Red Egg Dye

This dye exceeded my expectations ! The American dyes just don’t achieve the ruby red color of this dye. The instructions a little vague but I powered through and achieved great results with uniform vibrant color ! I will buy again !

This Greek girl only uses this dye for Easter! I normally head to the Greek market in San Francisco, but ran out of time this year and this is the same dye they sell there so it worked out perfect. It's always going to be messy and crazy and fun, but it also works perfectly and it's the only dye that will get those eggs truly red! Don't forget to coat them in olive oil when you're done to give them a good shine!

good deep red color. Colors Easter eggs evenly and easily. Downside... you really need to use gloves and stainless steel bowls. The dye otherwise can get everywhere. Also, while the eggs remained deep red, some of the dye can rub off onto your hands even after the eggs are cooled and the surfaces oiled (if you like them shiny). This is a traditional Greek Easter egg dye like my grandmothers used. I will continue to use it even though it was pretty messy.

Bit pricey for this product but it works great.. Eggs were perfect in color.

Used to dye eggs for our Orthodox Easter. Color was bright red and very even. Great. Glad I used.

The dye worked great! It was a deep red which was perfect. I hard boiled my eggs first, let them cool overnight in the fridge. Then I added warm water to a pan and 250mL vinegar and let them sit for about 10 minutes. I patted them dry and wiped them with some olive oil on a paper towel and they look great. I’ll be purchasing again for next year!
