AWESOME.
Awesome Radar Detector! You will have to make your own velcro mount for this, but that's super easy. Sometimes I just duct tape it to the dash board if I'm switching cars. Super effective but remember, if the police car is stopped, they'll be using a laser gun and this won't pick it up till it's too late. Fantastic if you're bombing country roads though.

American Express: Don't Leave Home Without It.
This is my second one of these units, and it has become my American Express as I don't leave home without it. The first one was somewhat erratic, and I didn't feel comfortable relying on it. After reading the varying evaluations, I decided to return it and very quickly received an identical unit. The replacement seemed to be better, and since I don't regularly speed, it has become my Carolina's Go-To unit.If you habitually drive like a maniac, you don't need a radar detector, you need a cell.To echo some of the other reviews: This is NOT a Police Detector -- it detects the presence of a nearby radar signal. If a radar signal is not present, it will not detect it. If a policeman does not have his radar on and operating, you will not get a signal from him or her. You will hear indications of door-openers and some construction crews, but that's part of the job description and you'll get to know where they are. .I found the Velcro pad to be too large for my needs, as I prefer not to leave it in sight when parked, A small patch is sufficient to keep it in place on my dash. Expect variations in QC among units for obvious reasons. I prefer the Escort for highway trips with its GPS memory, but this one is adequate for avoiding MOST unpleasant and expensive, surprises if you drive in sensible manner.

I love this radar detector
As someone who drives often, and often makes trip across multiple states, I love this radar detector. It's very conveniently priced for those who want the extra piece of mind like I did, and don't want to spend a lot of money. Couldn't ask for a better product for a better price.

No Surprises At This Price Point
This is exactly what you would expect: A cheap radar detector with a lot of problems. Is it better than nothing? Definitely. And the reality is, you probably don't want to be going so fast that this thing wouldn't be useful. No one should, in my opinion. And people who have Valentines or other great radar detectors tend to rely on them too much and get tickets. With this radar detector, you have to really pay attention, which is what you should be doing anyway whenever you're driving fast.* It definitely works.* Range is short, you have to react quickly. This will help you in a marginal situation when you aren't that far over the limit. You may have just enough time to knock 5 to 10 miles per hour off your speed before you get tagged.* The function that allows you to mute X band did not work on my unit, but it's not worth returning it because...* It misidentifies radar bands anyway. I can go through the same radar speed warning sign on two different days, one day it tells me it's K, one day it tells me it's Ka. Would I trust it to tell X from K? Hell, no. You must rely on pure instinct-- if it feels like a spot where highway patrol might be lurking, it probably is.* The VG2 and Spectre alert seems to work, and it's really cool. I always assume that the cloaking device does not work-- I think the latest Spectre can see almost any detector-- and I just pull out the cord to shut it off whenever this particular alert goes off. And slow down.* I could not shut off auto-mute, which is annoying. It's not loud enough. Very few radar detectors are loud enough, which really drives my crazy, because my car is the only place where I can listen to loud music.* It's almost bright enough.I know it seems absurd to give a product even three stars when it has so many glaring deficiencies, but if it saves you $500 once, you'll be happy you got it. Basically, this is for people who do not speed often and who do not go very far over the limit, who are on a budget, and really, really don't want to get tickets. Or feel really stupid when they get one, despite having a $500 radar detector.

Don't waste your $ on this
Don't waste your $ on this....visibility on the screen during the day is literally ZERO....sound is absolutely painful....literally the worst radar detector I have ever owned. Seller is great, just the product is not good.

still working great even served it's purpose last July when i got cut off by an immature cop whom i shot the bird to tried to and wanted to give me a ticket until i tapped the dash cam and told him " this little baby don't lie " off he went!

It’s good not great
It works, and it can detect radar pretty well. This is a basic standard level detector. The modes are good for city and highway.

But this time I am disappointed that I do not get almost no signal
I used Cobra before, it used to catch all kinds of signal including road construction signals from blinking light from long distance, off course police car on high way. But this time I am disappointed that I do not get almost no signal. Since I bought I had signal once this morning, so not sure in AZ is there no signal or if the instrument is defective one. Anyway, want to use for sometime to see and then try to return if I become positive that this one is actually a bad one.
