Dip in used motor oil and char with torch.
Being sure I coated them with carbon to prevent the aluminum from digging into the cast iron metal they poured and cast like a charm. I had not done this with my other cast iron crucibles and they always produced sticky aluminum spots on the cast iron surface until I found that tip. They are pretty thick about 1/4" wall thickness so they should last through several pours.

Delivered on time and packaged accordingly. They are heavy with all 3 together. Good construction, mine has no defects. I have used them a lot for copper and aluminum and they are holding strong. The ingots fall out with little effort. I will order again. 😃
