Q: Will these look good even with my iPhone?

I use my iphone or ipad to take photos with this all the time and they look great.

Q: Are you able to manipulate the structure in order to shoot objects from above? I am interested in shooting plates of food from a bird's eye view.

Yes - Just unclip the white plastic from the light assembly & slide it forward far enough to allow your camera to view the plate of food. You might also take a look at buying a set of MyStudio AL1-2. This would allow you to light the plate from both sides. At that point you can experiment with turning on or off the light assembly in the MyStudio PS5. The AL1-2 has the same lamp/bulb as the PS5; so the lighting will be consistent.

Q: Is there true-black backdrop, light-absorbing material or something similar so I can create a completely black background with MyStudio?

I'm using a black blanket and working fine.

Q: Has anyone tried to photograph jewelry? I am thinking earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, nothing real big or bulky.
