Meade Instruments 07210 No.932 45-Degree Erecting Image Prism Telescope Eyepiece, 1.25-Inch (Black)

If you have a telescope and have not tried using it for terrestrial viewing you likely have not had it long. And, while the image is clear, I found it being inverted (Upside down) to be a bit difficult to use. My telescope equipment is a mix of the old, made in the U.S. and the newer made in China items, but they all fit together and work as designed - so if your like me and have a mix don't worry about it. I will say I prefer the older items as they are made of aluminium rather than plastic - but admit if they were made here now they may well be formed of plastic.Meade makes excellent equipment, and this is no different.

The Meade erecting prism was just was I had looking for, thanks to it my old C90 celestron orange tube is now alive (attaches perfect to telescope rear and allows to use 1.25 inch eyepieces). It gives wonderful astroimages, yes I said astroimages, despite it was designed for terrestrial daylight use, performs great for moon, sun and planets, and for bright DSO. Very good balance between price and quality.

Good erecting prism for the price. Fine for terrestrial viewing

Seems way overpriced for a plastic attachment with a mirror. I'm a little leery of attaching my heavy DSLR on this. I tried this on my XTE 90 to see if I could use the scope for day-time terrestrial viewing. It does reverse the perceived lateral motion (when I pan right, the image moves right instead of left), but the image is also inverted now, which means standing sideways or backwards to view the image upright. That won't matter for photography, just a little annoying for viewing purposes. This is no fault of the product, it is just the way these optics work. I probably won't use it much, but am glad to have it when I want it. I haven't really found a better option.

The 45deg angle adapter works great and helps with viewing.

The eyepiece shown on this item is not what will come with what you purchase. This one will show the rugged zoom dial on the side. The one that is given is not a zoom piece and none the less does not look like this item. The only way I would ever change this is if I was ever given the zoom piece.

VERY cheaply made.

Not only is this a high quality piece of equipment that mounts easily and makes my Meade ETX into a dual purpose viewer, but better yet was the price. Best price I found online period and free shipping. Look, the resellers don't make the items, they just make the profit so for me the lowest price wins every time. I got what I paid for and more.
