BG Electrical Outdoor Weatherproof Double Switched Socket Kit with RCD Plug and 3 Metres of Cable, IP66 Rated, 13 Amp

I got a bit fed up of rolling and unrolling a long extension lead to mow my front lawn so decided to install an outdoor socket one Saturday. This kit has everything you need (bar a screwdriver, drill and drill-bit). It is very well made and the cable is nice and long to reach through even thick walls and then some. There's room for two regular plugs - wall-warts/plugs with built in transformers won't fit - and the front cover will close with things plugged in. My only criticism, and it is only a small criticism, is that the latches on the front are a little tight, but then again I wouldn't want them to be loose. A nice, easy to install product, perfect for pond pumps, lawnmowers or Christmas lights (so long as they're not the wall-wart type).

great out door socket easy to fit and use some reveiws say the catches are tight to open/close they are supposed to be tight to keep it water tight if you take your time opening/closing them they are fine if using it to do jobs outside and its dry you dont even need to close the catches you only need to close them in wet weather or if its for pond pumps,lights or any thing else more permanent then you wont open/close them much once plugged in any way for the price paid15.99 this is a great outdoor waterproof socket

A great bit of kit - very easy to fit and attach to the wall (although wall screws are not included, neither are rawl plugs). You just need a drill long enough to go through your wall, and it's done. I also bought 10x White Hole tidy / Grommets. bushing,Instant Digital Branded U.K to make the place the cable comes out appear much tidier. I've knocked off a star because the cable isn't quite 3m long. Perfect for control of the Christmas lights from inside the house. Also, something I wondered and didn't see in other reviews, the bottom of the sockets are covered by a rubber covering, so you can leave things plugged in, whilst maintaining a good degree of water-resistance. Recommended.

This product was purchased to supply electric to a new Hot tub,and was obviously a quality item and easy to install.Still waiting for the Hot tub to be delivered but have used the power point for other applications in the meantime, would highly recommend this item.

This product is particularly easy to install, especially for those wary of tampering with their domestic electric supply. It is as easy as wiring a 3 pin plug with no risk involved. The RCD is an excellent safety feature and works well. I have no hesitation in recommending this item. From start to finish it only took 20 minutes to install including drilling through the external wall. It was the ideal way of wiring my outdoor Xmas lights safely and neatly.

Really good kit if you want an outside plug easily. I didn't drill through my wall and install it properly, I just put the cable through my patio door seal but it worked really well. It is properly weatherproof and having the RCD built in is nice. I used it to mow the lawn, power a water pump and even charge my electric car through. I shall be doing a proper install job when the weather gets nicer.

Superb product. Does exactly what it says. It's been outside throughout the entire winter and i've had no issues. The RCD is a nice bonus to get with it. One small tip and it's no fault with the product. Give it a wipe before opening to stop water getting flicked into the container. Only really needed if it's been raining recently.

Arrived with a rattling noise inside the unit. A search of the reviews indicated it was probably an internal terminal connection not fitted properly. My unit also arrived in an unsealed box, was scuffed on the cover and the brackets were rusted. Returned as it was a used and defective item. Bought the same item elsewhere and it was necessary to take the unit apart to get a proper fixing on the wall (you cannot get the unit tight to the wall with the hanging brackets so it would therefore always be loose). No fixing screws provided.
