This is a lovely fable about the difference unleashing and supporting a young person's talent can make in the world. I enjoyed the descriptions of the drawings and of the feelings of empowerment and self-worth that came from making them. I took one star off my rating for the many distracting and avoidable copyediting errors; they make me sad. Worldreader must not be an established publisher, although it may do good in the world by promoting art and reading.

This is a thoroughly enchanting story of a young girl who passes through the gate of creativity on the way to deliver water. She is met by three powerful "aunties" who line her hand with a leaf of fortune that emerges, in her, as artistic gifts. Her gifts, delighted shared, bring not to her family where there was none before. What a marvel!

Wonderful story, with a very positive message. I truly enjoyed it. Nnedi Okorafor is one of my new favorite authors and I love her writing style.

This is a story that made me smile... a lot. It's clean, and straightforward, and very, very bright. The young girl is a sympathetic, real and truly lovable character. The narrator is written so that he disappears and pops back in just when you forget he was there.This story starts darkly and goes to a place one wouldn't expect. But it's a story that can and will make you feel so much better that you read it.

This story reminds me of so many people I have known. People that have had lives seemingly without purpose, and eventually found their calling. It's written in a way that makes it impossible not to imagine beautiful art on every page.

This is a wonderful story about a girl who uses a newly discovered ability to bring joy to the world. The magic is so organic, it made me smile to read it! Another delight from Mrs. Okorafor.

This is a gorgeous story with many layers. I only wish I was able to purchase a physical copy of it so I can gift it easily. It's that beautiful that I want to give it away! You have a way with words that resonates deep within me, Nnedi. Thank you for writing and sharing your gift with the world.

This was a simple tale nof a simple girl who has a not so simple encounter with the div9ne and mysterious! It is a quick and easy read but you will want to paint by the time you are through!!
