Q: I'm ordering a replacement carafe. my unit says kb, but not kbt or kbgt. it is 1.25 liters and looks the same as this carafe. is it the same?

This may fit but the KB's usually only come with a glass carafe. I haven't seen a thermal carafe for that particular machine before.

Q: Can this replace my glass one?

Not if your coffee maker has a hot plate

The carafe has a double steel wall similar to a Thermos. It will keep coffee hot for at least an hour, sometimes more.

Q: I got this coffee maker last year at amazon the carafe has never kept the coffee hot. i have read that this is such a great coffee maker, why?

Just purchased and it keeps coffee hot for a few hours, especially when we do remember to warm the interior with hot water first. Makes great coffee! Worth the money. My only complaint is the size...would love 10-20 more ounces of coffee.
