The best video DAC on the market
Do you have a high quality PC CRT display that supports insane resolutions? Is your graphics card one of the newer ones that does not natively support analog output? Are you frustrated with the current active adapter you're using that doesn't support resolutions over like x1024?This is the thing you need to get. It will do whatever resolution you tell it to. As long as it's within range for your CRT, you're good to go.Probably you should get the DPU3000-D1 or whatever it's called. This is the one that comes with a mini-DP to mini-DP cable - so you either need to bring your own mini-DP to DP cable or have a source that has a mini-DP out. I just got my own cable since the one that comes with the mini-DP to DP cable was out of stock when I needed it.The one downside to this thing is that I can't get it to support super low resolutions like in the 240p range. That might have to do with some other part of my setup, though. Hard to say.

Inconsistent signal
On many resolutions and refresh rates using the VGA output I get an inconsistent signal. Randomly there will be waviness for a minute then it returns to normal as well as the screen flashing then duplicating the bottom line of the display at the top for a while, then returning to normal. I've also tested with other monitors as well as cables and unfortunately get the same results. It's a shame because other than these problems which happen very frequently it would be great

If you're looking for a DisplayPort to VGA adapter that ...
If you're looking for a DisplayPort to VGA adapter that supports high pixel clock, this works wonders! From my limited testing, I achieved a pixel clock greater than 500 MHz!Here is some other notes on this adapter:- USB power seems to be required to get a stable high pixel clock- Might be my GPU (AMD RX 480), but I get artifacts on refresh rates that end with 5 (like 75 Hz, 85 Hz, etc...)I've been in contact with Sunix, and they were very helpful! Props to them.
