Great setup
I've installed Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads all around on 3 Mercedes-Benz and my Ram 1500. I love the difference these make. First, Mercedes OEM pads are soft and very dirty because of it. Ceramic pads are clean and save me from constantly wiping down the rims. I like the feel of the Powerstop setup and what tremendous braking power too. I installed these on my big S-Class and that thing will stop on a dime. They also have a very smooth, non grabbing feel to them. Extremely predictable, no left/right pull to them. I also installed these on my wife's CLK-550 with the same results. Very smooth, quiet, very predictable feel and very effective. I had some other drilled and slotted on the CLK prior and they just couldn't stop the car effectively and the pedal felt soft and spongy. Not the feel you want if you need to break hard in traffic. Once I put the Powerstop on all 4's the car is awesome. When I got my E-Class Mercedes the first thing I did was change all 4 rotors to the Powerstop setup. I use my Ram for towing and hauling and they are very effective for the big truck and they look great behind the 22" rims.3 comments/recommendations if you have never had ceramic pads on your vehicle. 1. Buy the rotors and pads together. Powerstop has a brake kit that includes both for either front or back. They also have a kit for all four. That's what I get and it saves money. 2. Break them in properly! Powerstop is very good about sending break-in instructions with the setup. Follow it and then go run them under average to subdued braking situations for about the first day. They will heat up, but that's part of the break-in. Do it and don't rush the break-in. They will last a long time 3. Warm them up in the morning. Be prepared for a soft feel the first stop of the day. After that nothing stops better.
