John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course Complete | 4-Book Boxed Set with Online Audio | Step-by-Step Piano Lessons for Beginners

I've been "playing" piano for years now, but never formally learned to play it. I recently enrolled in piano lessons and my instructor told me to purchase these collections of books, because this is what he uses to teach all of his students. This is where he started, and a lot of his young students started here and have gone on to play highly advanced and difficult music since. I was a little skeptical that I (a young adult) was put into a position to buy, what I thought, was a children's piano book. However, after completing the first book and skimming the other three chapters, this series is NO JOKE! You WILL learn to play the piano with this series, so long as you stick to practicing on a regular basis AND completing the in book activities. YES, that's right, you read that correctly. COMPLETE THOSE ACTIVITIES. If you're a complete noob or getting back into the swing of things in an effort to better your skills, swallow your ego and do all the activities in the books. They are there to reinforce what you are learning and, thanks to them, I can attest that they are doing their job. So if you're a bit older or even a child with a bit of experience, don't go into the series as if you know everything already. Come in as if you've never played piano before and follow everything page by page and in doses for the best learning experience. Like I mentioned, I only finished the first chapter and I'm on chapter two now, but it's been a huge eye opener since. And, if I'm being completely honest, I've grown to like all the characters in the book. Silly as they are, their presence makes learning a bit more fun.

I definitely give this course 5 stars! I have a new keyboard and with the Thompson Piano Course, I have direction and clarity and am on my way to becoming an extraordinary keyboard musician. I greatly appreciate this product because it gives superb, easy to understand, direction to new keyboard players who are just getting acquainted with the keyboard. Having access to the audio of the practice music, ensures I am striking the proper keys and lets me know how the lesson is supposed to sound once I reach perfection. This is the most fun way to learn piano. I am 51 years and using it to teach myself piano. It includes a code to follow the practice online as well, so you can hear how the notes are supposed to sound. Critical though is that you should follow the book in order as each lessons builds on the next.

I just bought a keyboard and purchased this tutorial for the piano to get me started. It consists of four thin books (38 pages each) and four CD's that contain the midi and audio files for each lesson. I started reading music and playing simple songs like, "Mary Had a Little Lamb" after about two hours of study. PRO'S: Excellent lessons for children and adults who want to read sheet music and start playing the piano, nice packaging to keep all the materials together, short but meaningful lessons to break it all down for the beginner. CON'S: Silly cartoons clog up the lessons (but kids will love it), CD's are rather useless - 12 year old audio technology is very out-dated and the audios/midi's sound horrible (I don't even use them). So if you're looking for a very easy-to-use tutorial for the piano, I recommend this - especially for children. If you already have some musical theory and piano-playing ability, then you should pass on this one as it is truly for the absolute beginner who knows nothing about reading music or playing the piano.

Using pianoforall books on udemy.. On book one, $48 keyboard,$15 sustain pedal.. Every good boy does fine Book one just starting ☺️ Retired what to do next ?? Learn piano, hope I do all 4 books!! Just retire and doing IT cloud and travel n anything $$ Fed government jobs retirement!!$$

John Thompson's piano books are the best beginner piano courses on the market. It doesn't get any easier than this. This set does Not come with audio CDs. It comes with directions to a website where you can download midi files and mp3 files that accompany the books. I highly recommend this product. I'm glad I bought it. I would buy it again.

All 4 books bundled together, accompaniment track online and easy to learn. My little is halfway through book one and alrealy learned about whole,halfand quater notes and identifying 3 notes on the keys. Great value and activity during this summer that may become a lifelong skill.

Child seven asked to learn how to read music. This four book set is very Good for teaching reading music. For keeping interest, another book along side of familiar easy songs is a good idea even while on the first book.

Nice piano book for new beginners to piano. Easy to understand and to go through with all the four books from the collection plus access to the internet tools that will help even better. Definitely recommend it.
