"RT Long" 37.5" Inch Retractable Tether for Securing Tablets, Remote Controls, and Other Small Electronic Devices

For what I was hoping to secure, it simply was not big or strong enough. And even though I prepped the surfaces well, the next day I found the base portion had come unglued. The picture shows it attached to a camera or something similar - and that might work well as a "reminder" that "we really don't want you to remove this item". But for anyone seriously interested in taking it, one good tug would most likely do it.

I know the title states "iPads and tablets", but the photos and descriptions mention remote controls. I've tried the coiled plastic tethers before, but they get tangled easily and become unsightly. I purchased this with the intent of using it in a common area around seniors. Due to the snap-back nature of the retraction, I don't feel safe putting it out. Disappointed, as this was the only option I found that looked more appealing that what I had previously tried.

Grandkids thought it was more of a toy....lasted 30 minutes
