This is the best purchase I could have ever made with getting a small breed puppy. I was terribly worried when I decided to get myself a Mini Dachshund this past December. I knew she was tiny, and I knew she would be scared. I was all alone when it came time to pick her up and I didnt want her to be terrified of car rides or have to be stuck in a cage when I got her, I wanted her to see me and still be able to looking outside and somehow I came across this wonderful product. My first impression was that it would be terribly confusing to set up in my Honda fit, but as I unraveled everything I realized it is nearly self explanatory. It rests up and around your head rest with a small buckle to make it easier, once it is against the seat, you fish the seat belt through a few loops and then buckle it in for maximum stability. Next you take the longer loop and wrap it around the head rest again, but it is a bit longer so that it stabilizes the seat.Once set up correctly I placed a small baby blanket in the seat and purchased a small harness for Gypsy, my Doxie. The seat has a built in dog leash that keeps your doggy from hopping out and the seat is fully set in place so if you were in an accident your doggy should be rather safe as well, but lets hope that never ever happens to you. All in all, this was a true life saver for me and my friends all love it. 10/10 PURCHASE THIS :)

I saw a similar booster seat in a parking lot one day and asked the woman who owned it how it worked for her dog. She highly recommended a booster, so I came home and bought this one. This is a well-constructed, sturdy-feeling booster and my little girl is VERY HAPPY in there! I set it up on the floor in the house first, and she jumped in and didn't want to get out! I put it in the car - and discovered that my headrests are built in, not the adjustable kind, but the booster fits anyway! I put a box under the booster (like the woman had) to give it some more stability, but I don't think that it needed it. I just wanted it to feel super secure from the start, and I can store stuff in the box, so...We went on a test run around the neighborhood and this seat is a winner! Normally my dog sits on my lap and jumps up to look outside at every intersection. Now she can look around all she wants and it won't be a constant battle, with me saying, "Get down!" every few minutes. I feel like we're much safer on the road.It was EASY to install. The harness clip is very easy to operate and gives the dog plenty of space to change positions. I did put the strap from the front around to the side, so it won't interfere with getting her in or out, and she won't accidentally get tangled in it. The picture here shows it going around the headrest. I just slipped it lower on the seat. The seat-belt went right through the loops and hold it securely.This seat feels DELUXE, right from the box in its own little carrier. Good job HDP!I got a newspaper basket on my three-wheel bike and put this seat in the basket to take my little dog around the neighborhood. It's a hit with both my pup and the neighbors! That darling dog has gone to doggy heaven and now I have two babies. The first seat went into the car, so I've ordered this again so we can get back on the bike. I'm excited to introduce the puppies to the neighborhood!

I bought this for my 15 lb Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix. The seat was easy to put in and take out of vehicle once adjusted. It is a bit awkward putting her in and taking her out of seat due to the strap that goes around headrest but so far it works well. It is nice to have peace of mind she is secured and can be my ride buddy! She enjoys being able to see out. Seat bottom seems sturdy enough for her but I put a pillow underneath just in case.

The media could not be loaded. Bought this booster in 2015 for my anxious Rat Terrier. At one point her weight got up to 17.5 lbs but she mostly averages around 12-13 pounds. She absolutely loves going for rides as long as she can do so in her booster where she can see out the windows if she wants to. Our last 2 hour trip we noticed that she was more antsy than normal and I thought it was because I had used it on our wider of the two split seats so I could easily see and reach her from the passenger seat. It didn’t seem to sit correctly even as I put it into the vehicle this time. When we returned home I discovered that the issue was that with age and significant usage the booster bottom had started sagging. Came on Amazon believing I would look at other designs but upon discovering it was nearly 10 years of usage, it would be silly to do anything other than to purchase a new one. Thank you for a great booster seat. My little girl and I both appreciate it immensely!

The bottom of the seat is not as sturdy as I had hoped with my 8 pound dog, and, he does not like the straps going from the front rim up by him to the headrest. Hoping he will get accustomed to them and be okay. I put a folded blanket in for stability and more padding. The one that was stolen along with my car was more than twice the cost of this one and was rather luxurious but I wasn't going to splurge like that again. It gets him up where he can see and is comfortable with his blanket in there. Also, there is room in the seat for two of him. Don't know that the bottom would hold up for 20 pounds.
