Great!
Sturdy! We had to screw it in because it fell once, which was kindof dangerous. Screwed in, it is perfect. Eventually the hand pads wore down and will need replacing, but that means we're using it alot! My husband loves it and he's a big guy.

Recommend larger installation screws.
This bar is a pretty sweet deal. I use to have one of these bars when I was younger. Now, at the age of 33 and at a desk job for the past two years, I recommend one of these. I did order one of the fancy pullup bars with all sorts of various grips, and despite my door frame meeting the specifications of this bar, the bar did not fit. The j/fit Doorway Pull-Up Bar can quite literally fit any door and is easy to install with a level and measuring tape. My only concern, and just for safety reasons, I didn't use the screws provided with the bar. It's important to know the construction of the door your hanging the bar on. My house is old and is build with plaster and lathe. The doorway where I put the bar has a good 1/2" of plaster, so the provided screws would not have been sufficient. Even if the door jam had wood right from the get-go, the screws provided could be beefed up a little. It's unlikely the bar would slip between the grip of the screws and the pressure the bar provides once it's tightened, but I'd rather play the safe card here. For an extra buck for six screws, I'd rather feel safe even if the longer screws provide nothing in addition. But, my situation is unique insofar as my door jam has plaster as the first material and not wood like most doors. Otherwise, save yourself the $50.00 on some of these ridiculous pullup bars, they all do the same thing, the others are just over complicated, unnecessary, and not worth the value they provide. This j/fit Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar is easy to install, provides the same function as other pullup equipment for 1/2 the cost, and can literally fit "any" doorway as long as the doorway is within the measurements as provided in this products description. Thanks for a great American made product!

Sturdy and Easy-to-Install Pull-Up Bar with Minor Maintenance Needed
I’ve been using the JFIT Deluxe Multi Exercise Doorway Pull-Up Bar with Comfort Grips (40-Inch) for a while now, and overall I’m very satisfied with the purchase. Installation was quick and straightforward. All I needed was a screwdriver, and it was up and ready in just a few minutes. The bar feels solid once installed. I weigh about 135 lbs, and it easily supports my weight without any sagging or shifting. It feels sturdy and secure during pull-ups and other exercises. The comfort grips are nice, though they are a bit thick because of the Velcro wrap. This isn’t a dealbreaker, but it does make the grip feel slightly bulkier than some other bars I’ve used. One important thing to note is maintenance: it’s best to re-tighten the bar about once a week. If you don’t, it can gradually loosen, which could become a safety concern over time. As long as you stay on top of that, it performs well. Overall, this is a solid and reliable doorway pull-up bar for the price. Easy to install, sturdy in use, and effective for home workouts. I’d recommend it, especially if you don’t mind doing occasional tightening to keep it secure.

Best made bar on the market
I have used several bars in the past and I have finally found one that is super sturdy, very safe and actually works. Several people have said that they don't use the end brackets but you have to be sure that you have the right kind of finish on your walls or doorway for this and you have to test it before each use. Some paint is just too slick and the bar will slide right down the wall. If you use the brackets than you will never have to worry about this happening as the bar only extends from one end, which is a real pain when you are initially installing the unit because it unwinds very slowly. In fact I thought mine was stuck so I called j/fit and they patiently explained to me that this is done purposely so the bar does not loosen while in use. It is a very carefully designed unit with several safety features which makes it a top of the line bar for home use. The ends have black rubber pieces which can create an extra cushion or suction to the wall or the end caps (I think this is why people are able to use it without the brackets). It only extends from one end which allows for double thickness through the middle unless you have a very wide door. One con is that the neoprene grips are placed in weird position and I almost gave it a 4 star because of this but when I asked j/fit if I had to use it in this position (even the picture shows this use) they said that you have to move the grips into position because the way the bar is designed, and extends from one end only, the grips cannot be positioned before shipment or they would have to put it in a very long box. I found this pretty easy to do, I just ran my thumbs around the inside of the neoprene to kind of loosen the grip and them jimmied them into the proper place. As soon as you release the suction of the grips, they are easy to move, just don't try to yank them into place.

Bar is the best on the market
The bar is easy to install and very sturdy. In my case, I need to remove after each use which is so simple to do. I also needed a bar that would work with my extra wide 38" door. Customer Service team was very professional and helpful.

Well worth the price
There’s a small entryway when you first walk in my bedroom. I wanted to hang a pull up bar there so I can work out in private. The specific location I wanted to install it didn’t have studs so I had to get 2 1x6 boards, cut them into squares and use 4 toggle bolts on each board to attach it directly to drywall. It’s extremely sturdy. Side note: don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t hang heavy things on pure drywall. I’ve done it for numerous things in my house. You just need to know how to disperse the weight. Anyway, I was a bit skeptical at first with how small the screws were for the mounting brackets but they held up very well after screwing them into the wooden boards. I’m not a light person and the bar holds my weight just fine. And it’s definitely more secure than the ones that use tension to keep it secure. Those pull up bars are prone to slipping off the wall so I would avoid those. Only two cons I can think of is, 1st, you have to adjust the bar so that it gets really jammed into the mounting brackets or else the bar will twist when you try to hang or do anything with it. 2nd, this is no big deal but I’m just putting it out there for anyone who cares. The “JFit” logo on the grip cushions is almost completely worn away after only hanging from it 5 times. All in all, a very good, sturdy product. The price is in the “cheap” territory so I thought the quality would reflect it but I would easily buy it for 10 or 15 dollars more.

Sturdy. Functional. Gets the job done
You have to screw the metal cups into your door frame, but that really isn’t very hard. Especially if you have a level and a drill. Use some tape on the back of the cups to stick them to the frame so you can temporarily position them. Install the bar and check that it’s level and that your hands have room above the bar. Remove the bar and screw in the screws with the tape still behind the cups if you aren’t concerned about the adhesive on your frame. If you are concerned, use a pencil to mark the cup locations. The bar is heavy and sturdy. The logo on the hand cushions came off immediately, but who cares? The hand cushions wrap around and have a seam which is fastened with Velcro. This wasn’t what I was expecting, especially since the seam is quite large, but it isn’t difficult to position the cushions so the seam isn’t in your way. And the removable function of the cushions is necessary because they have a non slip coating on the inside - meaning they can only be repositioned by peeling off the Velcro and redoing it. I think the very good non slip feature is worth a large seam. The build quality seems really good which is the most important thing in my opinion. I weigh 170 lb.

Sturdy but hard to grip
Installing the pull-up bar was quick and easy, I really like the mounting cups which prevent the bar from slipping down at all. I keep mine up most of the time but occasionally take it down if it becomes an obstruction, and both putting it in the cups and taking it out of the cups is fast and simple. So far I haven't had it try to twist loose like some reviews have stated, I don't know if that's a difference in form or just specific units. My main complaint is that the foam padding is thick and uneven due to the overlap. A small section is over half an inch thick that then drops off to a quarter inch, and I can't find a comfortable spot for that to fit in my hands. I tried doing pullups on the bare bar, and despite the slick surface, I found them much easier to do without the padding because my grip was more consistent. Overall a good bar and I was happy that it let me continue my workouts. I recommend buying some friction tape along with this bar and just skipping the padded grips altogether.
