Set of 2 Bobbin Box Organizers

Great set of bobbin boxes! Five stars - I am very happy with this purchase. I was previously using a box purchased at a local craft store and the result was a tangled mess of thread and bobbins everything I opened it. These boxes are awesome and will make bobbin organization a breeze. If your looking for a way to keep your bobbins from becoming a huge knot, get these! I attached a video review below. Pros: Sturdy clear outside box and firm moldable gray padding inside. Appears that it will fit most standard sized bobbins without issue. Bobbins stay in place and don’t move around (can turn box upside down when open and no movement). Great price for two pack. Latch is sturdy but easy enough to open. Product sticker came right off - so if you worry about that no need. Boxes are a mall enough to be able to fit into a sewing bag or box for storage when finished. Cons: None currently- will update if applicable.

These are great for storing bobbins. I had an older plastic case and it had threads sticking out from every bobbin and when I would take one out I would invariably get the thread of another one and it would go flying. I dropped it once and they all fell out and unraveled. I don't have much patience for that sort of thing. These are so nice because if you put a bobbin in a slot with the thread facing down, there are no threads sticking out to become entangled with another. You can actually drop a case and no bobbins would fall out. I also like that the lid can by opened with one hand and it does not jar the case at all when it is opened. The foam is flexible so it will hold any brand of plastic or metal bobbins.

► Why I like it: These boxes are a Godsend if you have any sort of a bobbin collection, and really, who sews that doesn't. Bobbins are like little chocolate candies – you can never have enough. I use class 15 bobbins in these and the foam cut-outs are quite snug. If you put the bobbin in with the thread end down and in the slot, when you open the case back up the next time, your threads will still be ever so nicely wound on their bobbins! No matter how you shake, rattle and roll these cases, your bobbins are not going to fall out and neither are your threads going to come loose and make a mess, nor are these boxes going to pop open. I even accidentally dropped mine on the carpet and it stayed shut. Rejoice in the knowledge that you can safely take your bobbin collection along with you to wherever you bring your machine without having to deal with tons of tangled bobbin threads ever again. Your sanity is well worth the price of these cases! At this price, you could even buy several and separate out your types of threads per case (plain, metallic, multicolored, etc). It has a nice 5” long, strong plastic hinge that should give a long service life. The clasp on it has a great snap so it should never pop open on its own from being jostled about. You can easily hear it snapping for yourself in my video. Since they are flat, they stack quite nicely on top of one another with the clasp not getting in the way. The almost clear lid lets you easily see what is in it without having to open it up and look. My only concern is that the little hoop for hanging has a fold line in it for those of us who do not wish it to be in the way, but because of that, the plastic is weaker at that point for those who wish to hang it. I think it might give up the ghost at some point because they have easily removed half of the plastic in scoring the bend point. ► Dimensions: Exterior, exclusive of tab – 7” x 3 1/2” x 1 3/16” Slots – 7/16" wide, 13/16" long, 3/8” deep in the foam and with a maximum snug slot height of 1” ► Pros: Firm fitting slots that hold very well and will also hold the tails of the threads. Decent thickness and strength of the plastic that should last. Firmly snaps shut to effectively hold everything in place with no rattles or threads tangling. ► Cons: None. ► Suggestions for Improvement: None. ► Would I buy again? I enjoy sewing as a hobby. I have quite a few bobbins of many different colored thread and wanted to get them organized. I had purchased a different organizer at a local craft store, but the bobbins were lose in several different large compartments. I wanted a way to be able to see all the different colors without having to dig through a box. This is perfect! The inside tray is a soft, foam liner that holds each bobbin snug and keeps the thread tucked in so it does not unravel. The box is see-thru, so you can see all the colors without ever having to open the case. It is a slim design and looks nice. I was able to organize my bobbins of thread by color, so I can find the perfect color that I need with each project. I ended up ordering another set of these bobbin organizers because I have so many different colors of thread and wanted to get them organized nicely. One of the boxes I have the basic black and white. Another box has browns and greys. Another box has warm colors (red, pink, orange, yellow) and the last box has cool colors (green, blue, purple). I am so pleased with my purchase and highly recommend these bobbin box organizers for anyone that loves to have their thread nice and organized!

OK, this may sound odd to most of you, but I participate in target shootings sports and, as such, I reload my own cartridges to save money and get better accuracy. In order to reload, one needs to have a collection of "shell holders", which are little round steel pieces that hold the brass case in the reloading press. I have all RCBS shell holders, and the sizes for them are stamped on the side. None of the commercially available shell holder storage boxes I could find allow you to easily see the side of the shell holder to read the numbers. They all seem to store them flat. Frustrated, I started thinking about what else might be re-purposed to provide a better storage solution and came up with the idea of a bobbin storage box. I tried the fit in my wife's bobbin box and it was very good. Her bobbin box, however, is hard plastic and the shell holders rattle around in it. When I saw these boxes with the foam insert, I thought it would be worth the price to give them a try. They are nearly perfect for my application! The foam distorts ever so slightly around the shell holder and then seems to slowly conform to the shape, holding them perfectly in place. The numbers stay facing up so I can easily read them. One box stores more shell holders than I will probably ever need, so I gave the extra box to a friend for him to try. The only concern I have is that the plastic film hinge on the latch may fail eventually. For the price, however, I am thrilled to find these and will gladly purchase another one, if the first ever does fail. Again, you may find this review odd and irrelevant. I thought the product was so perfect for my use, however, that I would take a stab at introducing it to a potential new customer base.

I like the compact shape, the snap-tight lid, and that the foam firmly holds the bobbins in place. To note the thread color numbers, I've been marking small pieces of paper and putting one end into the foam slot before inserting the bobbin. That's kind of clunky. Another option might be to put a chocolate-box type map inside the lid.

Bobbin case very well made. Use case to store bobbins to transport to class and to store extra bobbins. Bobbins are held securely in case and case prevents threads from running and getting tangled.
