Like this wheel. Had the 00-300 which I used for about 12 years. It finally broke last month 😁 I decided to get RT312 because it can reverse its count, the handle can telescoping, and the wheel is off set. The 00-300 was very dependable but the in-line wheel did get frustrating to use when there was gravel present. The pebbles kept getting stuck between the frame and the wheel. It's amazing that the folding handle didn't break. The RT312 I have seems to be accurate when compared with surveyed station marks. Also compared it with a Keson RRT12 and it measured the same. There are a few things I don't like about it. The handle is two pieces of plastic placed together. I can feel the pieces moving when I grip the handle firmly. Also the counter reset doesn't reset the first digit (inches) to 0. it's slightly off. Also the digit wheels are recessed pretty deep in the plastic housing. This produces a shadow which makes it hard to read certain numbers.

I'm a landscape designer. Inaccurate measurements can cost me or my client. This is a very accurate instrument. Something I have been lacking with my previous wheel. The wheel is very well constructed. Im pretty sure the wheel itself is an alloy of some sort. The telescoping handle is aluminum, well designed and quite a bit longer than I expected, with a comfortable handle. The wheel stops spinning as soon as it's lifted, which is a bonus. I have gained a foot from exuberant measuring with my previous wheel. Impossible with this one. The analog counter is old school and bulletproof. The kickstand folds up and out of the way next to the reset button on tbe counter. Its easy to deploy with your foot, and just as easy to stow. I can't be happier with my purchase. I have seen no down side to this wheel. If you've been shopping around for a $50 measuring wheel that looks, works, and feels like a $150 wheel, stop. You found it.

This isn't a terrible measuring wheel, but it needs work.First, I ordered the English-units version -- my Amazon order still says that -- and they sent me the metric one. Let's be clear, I have worked a lot out of the country and so I'm comfy enough with feet-versus-meters, but it was just slipshod to send me the wrong item, and yes, I could have packed it up and sent it back, but I really haven't the time.Second, the kickstand is just plain wonky. It kinda keeps it standing, provided there isn't any breeze and the ground you're working on is perfectly level, which at least means that it'll stand up in the garage.Third, the numbers are quite readable, IF you hold the wheel up to your face. So good for taking original measures, but quite a pain for trying to answer "where exactly is 4.8 meters in that direction?"Finally, forty-ish dollars is a lot of money for an aluminum handle and wheel with a couple of plastic gears.So it's not terrible, but I wouldn't buy one from them again.

I've been using this measuring wheel for my job almost daily since purchasing in January of 2014. I've pushed this through mud, snow, pouring rain, 20 degrees below zero and 100 degree summers. I was a little concerned that the reset button would break as others have reported, but has not been the case. Occasionally it does need to be pushed a couple times to get it to reset, but no big deal. I love that the handle is retractable, it allows for easy storage in the back seat when not in use and is the perfect length once extended fully. The large wheel makes moving through tall grass, deep snow, rough terrain and puddles a breeze. You can measure forward and then move the wheel backwards to turn the dial back if you overshot your points of interest.I've recommended this wheel to others in the market and will definitely purchase again should the need arise.

This measuring wheel works perfectly and is built from quality construction. I've used it several times since receiving it on various construction sites, including gravel, mud and concrete. It works very well under all circumstances. The digital measuring device is very accurate. I need very accurate measurements, so I double checked several measurements with a good ol fashioned measuring tape. I would definitely recommend this product, it's half the price of the Home Depot and Lowes measuring wheels and built better.

We have both the metric and imperial versions of this measuring wheel. We use the imperial wheel for rough measurements on our property. It's sturdy, light, and very conveniant for transport when compacted. The only complaint would be the wheel sometimes skips giving shorter readings when measuring on soil and grass. We use the metric version for work measuring distances between vehicles, and it has held up to a lot of use in the office. Great product.

Great quality, works fantastic and packs up nicely. Just wanted to mention this measures in feet and inches not tenths. We bought it as an engineering and surveying roll tape so it's a little different but not a huge deal. It was a little weird the first time someone used it and they wrote down 9.11-feet, and were temporarily dumbfounded.

Does the job

As a landscape contractor I go through one per summer. This measuring wheel is by far the best one I have ever used. Telescopic land works great. Wheel is metal and entire unit is built solid, very impressed.

Good quality, but not suitable for use in Canada unless you don't mind having to work in feet and inches. This measuring wheel does not measure in metric units.

I do minor excavation work and this is makes measuring and calculating materials etc a cake walk. It's always in my truck.
