more than I expected at this price point
I am experienced with audio, and have owned a wide variety of monitors and headphones, for listening, djing, recording, and live sound. I like to try different brands and especially look forward to ones that cost less than $50.To me, to pack in quality into a pair that dont break the bank is one of the most satisfying purchases I enjoy when shopping for studio supplies.That, and I'm not as upset if they dont work as expected. those ones become backups or spares to share w clients or others who forgot theirs.I received these IEMs in exchange for a fair and honest review, and I tried them in a couple different ways, i walked around listening to streaming music, and I especially enjoyed that they didnt budge when on. i have smallish ears but my 'earholes' are cavernous so sometimes in-ears take a little extra fussing or i need to use better quality/sized buds at the ends--which was not necessary this time.The braided cable was a delight to not feel sticky or tangle ..i gave it the tangle-test too, and stuffed them in my pocket and pulled them out at the grocery store and they were not tedious to get ready for use.I also tried these for a couple hours editing music. they are pretty balanced in tone, but not as balanced as say, Sony MDR7506, but its also 2 different price points and were more balanced than say, Beats .I enjoyed that they could be worn for a prolonged period without feeling fatigue. they are easy enough to take on and off if needing a reference of how sound is in the room.I'd bring these in my bag for portable use to save space for sure.Some warnings-be CAREFUL when assembling these. plugging the pieces into their cables, the components are a little brittle and the wires seem fragile---not the product's fault, but be aware and handle firmly but with care.-the box was a tight fit and took some patience to open. after my first try at these i put them back into the box for later use and instantly regretted needing to pry open the box again.- i really REALLY wish a little case or pouch was included with these. they dont tangle easy, and seem durable once assembled, but i feel like it wouldve made it even better...but for the cost, i guess its ok.-i strongly prefer a straight plug vs. L-shaped but this is a personal preference. still wonderful.Regardless of the small gripes i had I give this 5 stars.Im impressed with the quality, build, and performance these give, all for an unbeatable price.I'd be more than interested in trying some of their more premium Iems in the future, and strongly recommend trying these if youre not sure which ones to start with.
