Honbeanify U.S. Ballistics 2-in-1 Adjustable Steel Target Stand

This stand is one of Midway USA's staple items. This stand has some great features at the price point. Sure, you can knock out wood stands for slightly less but this particular stand's versatility wins outweighs economy. First, you have 3 different widths spaced out 3" apart - 18", 21", & 24" (end to end). I wanted to be able to place standard IPSC/USPSA cardboard targets as well as use 24" backboards to place multiple drill targets. It will also accommodate 1x2" furring strips as well as 2x4" boards. This means that you could hang steel. I tried this out, btw. You can hang steel but you'll definitely need some bracing material for the frame (e.g., sandbags, cinder blocks, an axle from a '78 Chevy Nova, etc.).These suckers come disassembled. It took less than 5 mins to assemble them, though. Throw the accompanying allen wrench in the trash and use a drill or socket driver instead. Pro Tip: The screw holes are painted, so they are pretty darn tight. I'll be easier to use the hand knobs if you "prime" each of the holes with another screw - preferably with a drill - before putting it together.UPDATE: I like these stands because conservation of space is a priority for me. I typically store and transport the stands while disassembled. One day, I started to play with the disassembled pieces to one of these stands and decided I could easily modify one and make it more stable while supporting steel targets (see pic). I quickly learned that the small side of a 2x4 fits perfectly between the stand halves when reversed. Using a leftover 3ish foot 2x4 (cut in half), four 2 1/4" screws, nuts, and washers, I was able to extend the footprint out enough to support the weight of an 3/8" AR500 2/3 IPSC target w/ angled bracket with no problem. No extra bracing material needed. There's still some play between the 2 pieces with heavy impacts but it stands its ground - as long as it's on flat ground. If you decide to take on this little arts and crafts project, take note that the stand pieces sit atop one another. Therefore, you'll need to account for the this offset when you start marking and drilling. Otherwise, this is too easy.I'm adding one star onto my former review. This is a 5 star product (for the price).

,The vertically over sized slots are made for ruff cut timber. Which is OK! If you use planed lumber,you can easily add fillers to the 2x4 slots to make it more sturdy. The stand is also made to extendfeet at the bottom of the stand. I added 3' foot 2x4s which worked great in high winds. My friendsand I found this well worth the money.

Very nice stand for target shooting at the range. Well thought out and very good quality for the money. Holds two different sizes of wood posts. Alows for very quick setup at the range. Would recommend....

Of the 4 stands I ordered only 2 were able to be assembled. The holes were either misaligned or were not threaded. They sell at a cheap price point but the manufacture is hit or miss.

I use this for holding targets at 300-600 yards and teaching new rifle shooters with a .223 AR. You have to expect some bullet hits on this and it is heavy enough to take them.

This is our third set we bought for the range. Like that we can us 2 X 4's instead of 2 X2's. They just last longer. Great value!
