Both the product and Caviar Line are winners! Even though the squid ink had to travel from Florida to California, we had it in four days! This was great for me because I was so anxious to make squid ink pasta with the jar I ordered (we could not find any squid ink in Los Angeles or Boston after three weeks of searching). The ink was very concentrated and only required on tablespoon per batch of pasta dough (400g flour and 4 eggs). The pasta came out "jet black" as hoped and had a subtle hint of ocean or seafood flavor. If you are interested in making restaurant quality, fresh, squid ink pasta, I could not more highly recommend Caviar Line and the squid ink they sell. Our family and friends love the fruits of our pasta labors using this wonderful spanish squid ink.Update 7/21/2014: We have now ordered a total of 6 jars of this wonderful squid ink. We use it for our private use and get great comments from friends who try our squid ink pasta. We have, and will continue to purchase this squid ink in the future.

I had squid ink pasta at a NOLA restaurant and was blown away by the presentation of a jet black pasta. I had a gift card to use and got this. It is a HUGE quantity, but I think I'll be able to use it in a timely fashion. It has a slight sea smell that for me disappeared when mixed with fresh pasta dough. My brother-in-law said he could still smell it though, very faintly, so if you have an aversion to the smell of seafood this may not be for you. I'm looking to give a unique look to things other than pasta such as rice, pizza dough, bread maybe. Anyway, I am very, very satisfied with the excellent quality, and of course going through amazon was easy.

Pros: High quality, great (original) taste, large volume, highly concentrated, inexpensive, I don't need to harvest from squids anymore, long shelf life, last even longer in the freezer which it stays in a gelatinous jelly state thus making it easy to take out only what you need, and best of all; ALL NATURAL.Cons: They don't ship overseas... please start shipping overseas :)

Great price on squid ink. Works well, makes some fine black pasta. Doesn't come out brown, has that nice, authentic, bizarre blue-black color. Smells really weird, and will increase your salt content in your pasta - plan for that!

Well worth the price - it's difficult to find this quality in the volume that it is sold in, it is a large jar and a little goes a long way. I will definitely buy this again.

Amazing color. A little goes a long way. Actual squid ink. Thick consistency. I've used it in handmade pastas and it's perfect!

Can't compare this to fresh squid ink, but it was very good in our homemade pasta.

This is A LOT of squid ink, which is perfect if you really love paella negra
