Works great for 17" laptop in recliner
I had to work from home for an extended period of time after a knee injury. I also had to keep my leg elevated, so it was best to work in the recliner. But typing from one's lap is not super fun, so I picked up this bad boy. I was concerned about sturdiness and fit, as I have a beast of a 17" laptop. Well it works great, and fits the laptop perfectly. The little mouse pad could be sturdier, but I usually rest it on the arm of the chair, so it works out. There's a little lip on the bottom edge of the mouse pad that can be irritating on your wrist after several 8 hour days, but nothing too terrible. I shove the legs in between the arms and the seat cushion and it fits like a glove. Now, if it didn't fit so perfectly, I'm not sure it would be quite as sturdy, but as it was, I only had minimal shaking, and I type A LOT. For the price and weight, it certainly met my expectations.

Satisfactory if you don't use a mouse
I purchased this foldable lap stand mainly to use while sitting on a sofa or futon. It is as advertised. I'm happy with my laptops trackpad and don't use a mouse; so, I don't miss the absence of a mouse extension. Some reviewers complain that this stand isn't sturdy. I find that it is durable and sturdy enough. I don't plan to subject it to abuse; it'll be fine.My main complaint is the difficulty in positioning the arms to match one another so that the board, right to left, is level. Once configured, the ratchet arms lock in place, and the stability is fine. However, unfolding it after it has been collapsed and stored is more difficult that it should be--there are not clear indicators for where the arms were previously. The fan is not installed so that it's sides are parallel to the platform (see photo). That orientation does not affect function, but it looks sloppy. The fan is very quiet, but plugging it in to the computer drains battery. I don't find the benefit worth the cost. My laptop does run hot enough to cause discomfort on bare legs, but it's fine on desks; so, the cooling fan is superfluous.

It's not easy to figure out
I had an aircooled laptop desk a few years ago and and was easy to use and very comfortable. The leg construction on this desk takes experimentation to get the best results. It has a lot of settings that I probably am missing out on, but the legs feel very robotic and if you don't get the settings just right the metal digs in to your lap. Taking me more effort to use than I expected.

Great laptop desk!
I'm glad I purchased this item, it makes either sitting on the couch or even in bed comfortable while my wife and I work from home.It took a little bit to get the right angle on the legs but once we got it, it worked perfectly. The USB fan is the reason why I purchased it and it has not let me down. I will definitely recommend this item to my friends and family.

Crap.... At least the one I got MISSING MOUSEPAD
Is extremely cheap and flimsy but that didn't really matter to me what mattered was it was missing the mouse pad completely and there was only two legs and there should have been three if you get what I mean there's only two turning points instead of three

Extreme difficulty getting the parts level
Adjusting all of the joints to achieve the same level for laptop placement was very difficult. Once the desired position of all the adjustable parts was achieved the stand had to remain in that exact position or else the 20 minutes to readjust it would have to be gone through again. This is not practical for the space in our home. The allure of this item was the collapsible feature once use was complete. Working toward getting all moving parts level so that it provided a surface to place the laptop on caused vein throbbing stress! Ordered in Sept for Christmas gift and return window closed in October so we have this item that is useless.

Nice purchase
Every thing is good exept stability.. perhaps I received this product with defect, left legs doesn't match to right on 1mm. It's not so horrible when you use this one in a bed but on a desk it's rolling a bit

Works well except for mouse pad...
This is a great buy, easy to set-up, literally took 5 mins. Very easy to adjust with the graduated markings so that you can set both sides to the same adjustment, no guesswork!s The USB fan is quiet and there's plenty of room for the laptop. The only thing I am not 100% comfortable with is the mouse pad. It is not large enough to rest my wrist and move the mouse. I would have preferred that it be maybe 2" longer so there is room to rest my hand while moving the mouse. There are 3 holes for adjusting the position of the mouse pad but the rubber "washer" can only be used with the middle position. Lastly, the mouse pad is flimsy as it cantilevers on the one screw and it is made of plastic so there is no rigidity. I find myself using the laptop base for the mouse. It is light due to the adjustable legs and mouse pad being plastic, the laptop base is metal.
