Great book but received without CD
I've bought this book, new, because I know used ones may lack some accompanying materials. And still the book arrived without CD. A lot of worksheets are only on CD, so the book is almost useless without CD. I am very disappointed.

Great book, but it needs more
I really like this book. I'm an occupational therapist working with middle school and high school students with cognitive impairments. My only complaints about this book are that I wish it covered more topics (shaving for girls and guys, menstrual cycles, putting your hair in a pony tail, etc) I also wish included in color visuals on the sequencing of completing these tasks. That would make this book amazing. The worksheets included are great, but unfortunately will need to be adapted because I'm not sure my students can read all the worksheets. To me that's not a big deal and easy to do.

It's A Must Have
This book is perfect for a therapist or teacher looking for practical, fun ways to address hygiene. It is full of ready to use worksheets and ideas that can be used for any age and gender. This book is written with a true understanding of how children learn and how to help them achieve their best results. It is a must have for any professional working to address these issues in a non-threatening but compassionate manner.

Useful Guide
Using carefully designed lesson plans, this practical curriculum is a great tool for teachers, therapists, and parents who work with children with ASD. This book enables the instructor to teach personal hygiene in a tactful non-judgemental way. It also aids the students in understanding the unwritten "social rules" leading to success in social situations. Each lesson is accompanied by time saving material with really fun closing activities. What child wouldn't have fun with unusual personal trivia, silly scavenger hunts, and entertaining movie clips? Additional expert references and on-line resources are an added bonus. This curriculum is a teacher-student friendly guide easily adaptabe for various age groups and abilities. I recommend adding it to your "must have" list.

A Valuable Teacher Resource
by Bev (retired educator)This book can be used in so many ways. It provides detailed lesson plans as well as accompanying graphic organizers to help instruct special students about correct social behaviors. Each section deals with a different skill area that may normally be uncomfortable to address in a school setting. The book is fun to read, easy to use, and offers some unique approaches to help autistic kids learn and improve their life skills. It would be a valuable addition to any teacher resource room.
