This is the first hat i spent more money on. It came out of the box looking and felt like a million bucks!! When I tried it on i felt like a bad a$$. It's not a flimsy hat at all. I can't wait to wear this hat out. It looks fantastic!!! I'm going to have to get another one.

Great hats! My husband and I each got one. He used his in hard rain the other day, and it kept him dry as a bone. This is a great hat for keeping the rain off of your glasses, so you can see :)P.S. Decided my "small" hat didn't fit well enough, so ordered a "medium." The one that came was scratched, and the top was unevenly stitched and "lumpy." Sent it back, am awaiting a replacement that I hope will be as nicely made as the first two hats we bought.P.P.S. 6/4/2016 I have now tried 3 times to get this hat in medium, and still don't have a usable hat. The first two came from Glencoe Gifts. As I mentioned above, the first hat was scratched and lumpy, so I sent it back. Prompt refund. Second hat came in a BAG, not a box, and had a bad crease in the brim. I am going to send it back, too. In the meantime, I ordered a third hat, from Western Outlets, fulfilled by Amazon. This hat also came in a BAG (not a box), and was in such bad shape I couldn't believe it (see pics). I have now given up on getting this hat in decent shape from Amazon. Very disappointing.

I had to return the first hat I purchased on Amazon; the workmanship was horrible. So I was apprehensive buying this one.My fears were unwarranted, this one is fantastic!Thanks to everyone for their reviews, esp. Jeff for his comment about it being slightly over-sized. I land in that zone between small and medium, so based on it I got the small. It fits perfectly!Good string chin strap and clasp. I pull it up over the back when I don't need it. Makes it look even cooler!

obsessed with this hat! its just really great looking on, and good quality. totally waterproof, and fits my tiny head. For this price i think its perfect. its slightly bendable on the sides and can resist some "banging up" but it will dent its not flexible to pack in a suitcase but just wear the thing. honestly it looks great on.

Downsides: runs large, has shoestring instead of leather band for chinstrap, galon seems to be made of faux leather. Upsides: comfortable, nice oilskin finish, good form and sturdy brim. Would buy again; just need to size the headband to be 1/8-1/4" smaller.

For me, $40 is a lot to pay for a hat. But, you get what you pay for. You get what you pay for with this hat. Totally waterproof, a brim that will keep rain and snow from going down your collar, and it appears to be well made. I would recommend to a friend.

This is a very attractive hat and well made, but the crown is creased and the brim is not flat because it was pressed very tight in a plastic bag. I have it on a table with the brim pressed flat with books. I hope that will fix it. I'm the future please use a larger plastic bag and box, and please don't press the crown flat. Five stars for a good fall and winter hat, water resistant, for when I walk and when I take my dog for frequent walks, but I had to subtract three for wrinkes, creases.

The hat performs perfectly and does keep the rain off. It’s a bit too Indiana Jones for my taste but it does the job very well.

It's exactly what we're hoping it to be!
