Great quality part and a fantastic value.
Most of what I want to say is already stated in other 5-star reviews. The unit is a perfect fit. It comes with a new wiring pigtail that even includes new plastic clips. I considered the cheaper knock-off brands, but I've had poor experiences with them in the past so I feel the extra money to get Timken quality is worth every penny. Installation was very straight forward. You will need a 36mm socket for the axle nut. Trust me, you can't make due with a giant Crescent Wrench. You can buy the socket from Amazon or go to <pick name of your favorite orange parts store> and use their free tool loaner service to borrow one. This part is exactly the same part you would get at your local parts store, but about $120 cheaper. Seems like an easy decision to me. A bit of advice for reassembly: be sure to clean the rust and crud off the old o-ring very carefully, give it a thin smear of grease, and then clean the mounting area that the o-ring sits in with some sandpaper or wire brush before reassembling the new hub with the old o-ring. Go ahead and give the whole mounting surface a thin smear of grease for easy assembly and corrosion prevention. I was a little surprised that the hub didn't come with a new o-ring, but the old one cleaned up nicely and it all went together easily. Also, clean up the threads of the bolts with a wire wheel before reassembly with blue thread locker compound. Finally, make sure that all the little plastic clips are firmly pressed into their respective mounting holes and the wire is plugged into the socket behind the shock mount.

2005 Hummer H2
Same Hub lasted 10 years 200k miles, so replaced with the same model. Wheel studs were different on each so buy both at the same time.

Worked as stated
I installed this in 2006/2007 classic duramax crew cab SRW 4x4. The original factory bearing was also a timken. This one is shaped a bit different near the splines but works fine. It's a more universal than having a lot of different part numbers. I guess this is also used in non 4x4 trucks also. The splines will simply not be used. I'd recommend cleaning the steering knuckle out good. The abs line worked well albeit one grommet was in wrong location so I have the line holding down with Three instead of Four locations. The one that didn't locate was right near the plug assembly. I'd recommend a 36mm socket for 4x4, I got a Williams from amazon. And a 13/16 socket to take off the brake caliper frame assembly. Torque IIRC Is 140 ft lbs for lugs, 221 brake caliper and 177 ft lbs for center hub. If you jack the truck up and have the suspect wheel off the ground there should be very little play when pulling top of tire towards you and pushing bottom towards truck and vice versa. My wheel had at least an inch I would guess. No play for all practical purposes with new bearing installed.1/14/14 Update, bearing has worked fine since installing in Nov 2012, will buy again for sure if I wear out either side again.

Fixed my ABS and TC problem
Ever since I bought this Hummer I have had a ABS and TC light on. Thought it was the abs sensors but it ended up being the HUB. Don’t go cheap on the hubs guys. Stick with Timken.

Great hub but it does not come with dust covers!! Works on 2x4 and 4x4
The TIMKEN SP580310 works for both 4x4 and 2x4 but this hub does not come with dust covers. I reused my old back dust cover from my old hub. I bent the back dust cover a bit when I removed the cover with a flat head screw driver and a hammer. I hammered the bent area back into shape. For the FRONT dust cover you can buy a Dorman - HELP 13920 Wheel Hub Dust Caps here on amazon.Note: This dust cover is made of a thin soft metal. DO NOT HAMMER the dust cover directly or you will dent (ask me how I know). Instead tap the dust cover along the edged using a flat head screw driver and a mallet or hammer. See pictures.

WRONG PART. DO NOT TRUST FITMENT GUIDE. WILL NOT FIT 1500.
This part number is NOT for a 1500 Chevy or GMC with 3 mounting bolts and 6 wheel studs as stated by Amazon, but is instead for a 2500 with 4 mounting bolts and 8 wheel studs. I just realized this with my truck ripped apart. I should not have ordered from Amazon. I put in the exact specs of my truck as a 1500 and got the "green light" that this part "will fit your vehicle". I'm very disappointed. Now I need to do a return and deal with that. I would give this Timken bearing 5 stars, but because this was inaccurately described I'm giving Amazon one star. I just ordered the correct Timken bearing from EBAY from a top seller for less money. I should have gone there first. No local parts stores sell Timken, only Chinese made junk for more money.

Good Fit/ removal tip
This item fit the 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 extended cab 4 x 4 perfectly. The ABS sensor plugged right in and the clip that were included popped right in place. If they are off a little, they can be slid one way or the other.I gave it 4 stars because it could have included the bolts and seal. It was hard trying to find the bolts for the 2500. I found they are the same size.as the 1500(dorman 917-517). But there are only 3 in the pkg for the 1500. So, you need to order the extra pkg to get the last bolt. The bolts are common to alot of 3 hole hub car and trucks. I removed the old hub by loosening the 4 bolts half way and putting a bar between the frame and the bolt head. then I turned the wheel to use the power steering force to push the hub loose. I did this on both the front and rear side of the hub. Then tapped it out the rest of the way.Hope this helps.

2006 LBZ 4wd; Perfect fit
2006 LBZ Duramax 4x4 - Perfect Fit1/2018 installPlan for an 1-1.5 hr job that's how long it took me.Lessons learned:- I wrote my own procedures to help make things go fast. It helped a lot.- Reinstall the shield correctly, I almost put things on backwards which won't let you put the rotor on- I broke two chrome craftsman sockets while torqueing to spec. Use ONLY 6 point impact sockets.- Use zip ties or old brass clothes hanger to hold the brake caliper and keep it out of the way. It's a little obtuse and can fall.- Rotate steering wheel so that you have appropriate access to apply the necessary torqueI rotated tires after.Update:75k miles, no issues
