PENN Pursuit III & Pursuit IV Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

I bought three of these rods so far. I mailed one to the location I went surf fishing and two for snagging paddlefish.If you are a professional, I’m sure you will find plenty to show why a more expensive combo is better. I never felt this rod combo was not up for the task. The reels are not sealed so if you don’t keep them out of the sand and mud you may have to service it more. I kept my rods in pvc holders when I wasn’t holding or casting.The reels are big and hold a lot of line. I used 100lb braid and they held plenty.The rod comes in two sections so storing is nice especially when traveling in a smaller vehicle.I loaded my line with 6 oz weights and I could cast like a boss. Many casts to snag a paddlefish and the rod and islets showed no signs of fatigue or wear.When I slowly upgrade my cat fishing rods I will buy these for sure.

This combo is a great value. Loaded the reel with braided line, great distance casting ever time.

Great product if delivered in one piece. Purchased and had to return three fishing rods in less than two months due to two issues. (1) Excessive long delivery time and (2) inadequate packaging. Both issues resulted in packaging gets damaged and fishing rods arrived broken inside packaging. Both issues are totally unacceptable in lieu of me being a Amazon Prime member.

Received two broken rods with the tips completely missing from the box they were shipped in. Amazon finally corrected this on the third time by doubling up the boxes which allowed the third one to survive. Thanks Amazon for a great return policy.

What I ordered. Looks great. Reel is better than expected. When bale is open to cast, make sure handle isn't close or will close bale. But that's most open faced reels so definitely no issues with me.

Just arrived today. Haven’t had it in the water yet but very impressed with it initially! Came packaged very nicely. Rod seems nice and reel is buttery smooth. This option came with the carry case in the picture which is a very nice but unexpected perk. Some other reviewers mentioned terrible packaging and no travel/carry case but my experience and product is excellent.

Nice rod for pier and surf fishing, reel is large enough to hold plenty of line. I spooled 40braid on the reel. Think it held about 400yrds. Plenty of line.

Excelente caña y un gran carrete en este combo, me gusta mucho que sea de tres piezas y su estuche de primera.

Es una buena caña y carrete, lo que deja mucho que desear es el embalaje ya que tanto el carrete como la caña no traía nada de protección Anti golpes lo que pone en riesgo la integridad de producto, de ahí en fuera todo bien, gracias

La caña vale la pena y es lo q esperaba, el detalle que la caja venía dañada y tiene aspecto de antigua, también la caña mostraba golpes, como si hubiese estado de muestra o usada. Pero el producto funciona bien hasta el momento.

la marca Penn es sinónimo de calidad, todas mis cañas y carretes son de esta marca ya que la calidad y precio del producto los vale.
