Superhero Squad Mega Pack: Sentinel & Wolverine
A**N
I guess even the toy of Sentinel got nerfed...
This is one of those toys that I wish I'd picked up when I saw it in stores not too long ago, both because I could've gotten it for the original price, and because I really did want it. Now that my daughter's really into super heroes (partially thanks to the Marvel vs Capcom games), Sentinel's one of her favorite characters, and she couldn't wait to have her own 'baby Sentinel'. Now that we have him, the figure looks great but there's one huge problem, and one little problem. That's really unfortunate too considering how highly sought after this guy is now, and many people probably don't know the issue.Sentinel is the main selling point of this pack, and comes bundled with a unique mask-less Wolverine. Wolverine looks pretty good, though his face is on the chubby side. His head and arms are articulated just like all the other Super Hero Squad figures. The claws aren't too pointy, so there's no worry about your kids getting hurt when playing with him unless they jab the claws into their eyes for some reason. As for Sentinel...he looks awesome in Super Hero Squad form, and I love that they even made him smile. He looks like he's about to give you a big ol' robot hug! The paint looks good too, and I prefer this version over the variant that comes with Cyclops. However, the bolted one has a glaring problem that I'm going to email Hasbro about- the big guy can't stand up. His left foot has the heel slightly raised so that there's no way he can stand up on his own, as he'll always fall forward. And guess what! The only thing articulated on Sentinel is the arms! No leg articulation what-so-ever. The head and waist not being articulated (the little problem I mentioned above), I can live with, and my daughter doesn't care about that either, but not being able to stand up? Come on! I checked a few sites, and many people are reporting the same problems about uneven feet. Some of them luck out, but I'm not finding many pictures of Sentinel stand up on his own anywhere. You might want to get these figures opened/used to see if they're defective or not.But as it is, these toys are meant to be played with, and my daughter has play fights with them all the time. It irritates her that Sentinel won't be standing on the edge of the bathtub with her other toys, or on the coffee table when she has the other heroes standing there. Great looking figure, but don't spend more than double the original price on this if it's new in the box since you could end up with a post-patch MvC3 Sentinel.
