BOSCHHC2011 3/16 In. x 4 In. x 6 In. Bulldog SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Bit

I installed 123 Tapcons into an old concrete basement floor and these bits were excellent. I bought a few bits expecting that I might break them but they exceeded my expectations. I got around 40-50 holes drilled with the first bit and then the remining 75 or so were all done using the 2nd bit. The one I broke was my fault since I was pushing the drill a bit and not letting it do the work. The bits also seemed to do a good job of bringing dust up and out of the hole. When I raised the bit out of the hole each time, it would bring up a pile of dust with it. Clean holes are essential with Tapcons so this was really helpful. I used a Bosch Bulldog SDS with these.

Worked well for over 100 holes but I believe I hit rebar or an old nail on the concrete and broke the tip off. I then learned Bosch makes a similar bit but made for “concrete with rebar” which I bought at ACE hardware for $9 and I’m confident it will last much longer. They claim 4x as long. So I recommend getting the better version if you have a lot of holes to drill

We needed to drill holes into extremely dense basalt boulders in order to install survey benchmarks. Tried several cheaper bits and they could not even start a hole. These Bosch Bulldog's were able to drill into the Basalt boulders like butter. Well, for 3-8 holes that is, until the carbide tip wears out and then they instantly melt and deform haha. But it worked in Basalt and that is what we needed!
