Good leather, good design, good inside, where the liner is one piece that goes the length. It's comfortable, and it's easy to clean, and polish. Well constructed for the method they used (glue).I was worried about the smell, but I have no idea what everyone is talking about. I had that new leather smell, and that was it.I guess the only thing about the sub $100 shoes are that the front soles wear out very quickly. The entire bottom is rubber, with brown coloring in few places to make it look like leather, but it's not. It's not designed to be replaced either.So, basically, when these things wear out, you have to throw it out and get a new shoes.The problem with sub $200 shoes are it costs way too much for the bottom soles to be replaced.The problem with sub $300 shoes are that you're spending way too much for a shoes that will cost you about $60 to $120 to replace, and you really have to make sure you get something classic that won't go out of style in two weeks.The problem with anything above $500 shoes are this. You have too much money, and you should send me some money!EDIT:I bought a second set. I bought it just to have it. It's good. But here is my feedback from wearing it for a while.Pro1. I don't know about this smell deal, but mine arrived, it didn't smell2. Leather is good.3. Inside is very warm, even during 30 degree weather here4. It looks good, and is very comfortable right off5. Zipper worked flawlessly so far6. Not too tight, not too loose. I can run in it, which is saying a lot about a zipper shoes.Con1. Cheap soles. This is something you can't get away from. Short of buying a $500 shoes and paying $100 to replace the sole, this works.2. It's not very comfortable to walk on. It's due to the lack of inner cushion, but it's $50.

We used to always call this style 'Beatle Boots', and they've been harder and harder to find in recent years. I was glad when I found these on Amazon, and I ordered them right away, though at such a low price I wasn't expecting much. Upon receiving them, I was amazed at the style and quality of this boot. Of course, anytime you buy shoes without being able to try them on first, you're taking a chance on the fit. On a hunch I ordered these in Wide, and I'm glad I did, because even the wide width seems to fit me rather snug across the instep. They're leather, though, and may loosen a bit with wear. If that turns out to be the case, I'll modify this review to 5 stars, because this is really a fine boot, in a hard to find style, at an incredible price.This is mid-June 2015, and I wanted to add that when I bought these I got them for $36. Right now they are priced at $60, which is the highest I've seen them. I have them in the 'save for later' area of my shopping cart because I intend to get another pair, so I'm informed whenever the price changes. Over the months I've seen the price on these fluctuate. Recently I've seen them going between 40 and 45 dollars. This ($60) is as high as I have seen them. I suppose their worth $60, but it's hard for me to spend that on them when I already got a pair for less than $40. I'm going to hold out a bit to see if they come back down. They really are nice boots.Update October 28 2015: I just bought two new pairs. They finally came out with these in brown. Plus the others I ordered in 11 w turned out to be too long, and I could not walk far in them. These 10.5 W fit just right. The price never did come down to their previous low, but I did get both pairs - one in black and one in brown - for $105, pretty good price for zipper boots of this quality.I need a little more time with them before I can judge how long they wear comfortably, or what kind of arch support they provide.

These are some wonderful shoes, especially considering the price. I've been wearing them to work pretty much daily for a few weeks now and they've become quite comfortable. The other reviews that say the leather is stiff is true, but it wasn't an issue. They're durable! There is one issue i've found, though. something inside the shoe is degrading and i keep finding these hard little blue things in my shoe. If I'm wearing thicker socks, I don't notice, but with thinner dress socks, it feels like little pebbles in your shoe. It seems to have stopped so that's good.Something else to note, they're slippery. Fine for working in an office or something like that, but even on carpet i was slipping a bit. Took a week or so to get used to that.*Update* I've since purchased these shoes again - twice. I really wore these shoes every day for about a year and eventually they became unwearable (water would seep in on rainy days, for example). The 2nd pair didn't hold up as well as the first. Eventually after only 6 months or so of regular wear they were completely destroyed. The leather was chipping away, the sole was literally cracked in half on the bottom and the upper leather part was also detaching from the sole. I eventually had to glue the upper leather portion back onto the sole with crazy glue until I could go shoe shopping. I eventually bought these again because i really couldn't find this style in the local shoe stores (DSW, Belk, JC Penny, ect.) and i really didn't want to go back to lace up oxfords or something. Also, the price is right on these. Other dress shoes i liked were in the $80-$120 range and I really hate spending that much on a single pair of shoes. So, i bought these again. I hope the 3rd time's the charm and these last a while.

love the leather, the fit and the soft feel on my feet. hope the man made soles end up lasting much longer than my first pair with leather sole. first pairs soles lasted less than 10 nights out. reasonable price

They fit perfectly to your shoe size that you wear great value for the price. Sharp looking boat

Boots felt like they were two different sizes. And it was very noticeable that one was smaller than the other. Tag said they were the same. They seemed poor quality.
