It's a book to be read frequently!
I was stuck some years ago in education systems that don't bring any direction. Studying by myself has made me find books like this, I found familiar ideas and methods to progress. However, there are a lot of great new ideas for me that can help me to set my mind to succeed

Taking action When it comes to learning, immersing oneself in the subject or topic
I loved this book because it is very clear and clarifies important aspects and approaches to learning.

... looking to improve how they can learn faster and better.
There really wasn't enough "meat" in the book for people that are looking to improve how they can learn faster and better.

Some good thoughts. If they are used.
Who was ever taught about how to learn? The thought in the title is worth the price. Some good thoughts. If they are used.I once went out to set the curve on a very hard subject against the best in the country. I was the only A given. Wrote a question on the left side and the answer one line lower on the right. Cut a piece of stiff paper so I could only see the question. Did it for even the footnotes. Do that and you KNOW if you really mastered the material or not.

Good book on learning techniques
Great review / summary of which techniques work and don't work for learning.I enjoyed the book and am already putting it to use.One tip that surprised me was that highlight is not a good way to learn. That will be hard for me to give up!

If you have a degree, you don't need this book.
I was pretty disappointed with this book. The writing, from a technical perspective, felt much more amateurish than someone who has both a Bachelor's and Master's (per the back of the book). Which makes for some contradictory advice- if you have successfully gotten a degree, you don't need this book. You know how to learn.I think this would be a great book to give a young child, about 12-13, for the general concepts of how to "learn." If you're an adult, this is quite basic.Pros: accessible, fast read (less than 2 hours), basic language, basic concepts, helpful if you genuinely have no idea how to retain information or organize yourself in a basic wayCons: no clear structure, no articulated method, claims to cite research/studies but does not actually provide any citation or references to claims around accuracy anywhere in the text, and there are multiple contradictions through the material (states early that rereading isn't helpful, then later states reviewing previously learned information is helpful; states in the book that the learning styles science is tenable at best but promises on the back of the book to help you learn your learning style- which isn't even quiz based, just suggestions for your self-chosen learning veracity.Overall, I wish I had two hours of my morning back. I appreciate what the author is trying to do, but there's nothing groundbreaking here.

It is a good guide for youngsters to get them pointed in the ...
Me and my 12 year old read this together. It is a good guide for youngsters to get them pointed in the right way and conceptualize learning differently. He will of course need to review and reread again soon.

Inmersión.
Me han gustado las alternativas en forma de guía: una de ellas es la inmersión. Sin duda ninguna está exenta de práctica y esfuerzo.

Tips
Very helpful practical advice for any student. Good pointers about things that don’t work and a few basic simple techniques that do. I feel more confident in my learning style and have a good understanding of how much effort is required to learn something and to truly know it.
