Pretty Darn Good
If you are a DYI-er you can handle this. If you are the type of person who fixes things with your wallet wrench, this may be a bit above and beyond. For the price it's pretty amazing what you get here. 4 hours of running cable and a few hours on and off of playing with the NVR and I was up and running. I still have quite a bit to learn about the system but I must say, the emails I sent for help were answered faster then the outlined 48+ hours. Two things I would change if it were up to me and if they were changed, this would get a 5 star rating.1) the weather proof fittings for the connections do not fit over the factory RJ45 jacks. I am lucky and work in a data center so I hit up my cabling guy and he trained me how to reinstall the 8 pin RJ45 connection after I got the weather proof connector on. (this is more for POE Depot rather then other consumers who may not know what I am referring to)2) Even though we live in the digital age, the mini cd that comes with that has the instruction manual I am sure is helpful BUT, I can't use it. My computer doesn't have a CD drive...maybe time to upgrade the file to USB drives or good old fashion paper.Other than that I love it. The app works well and I was able to walk my wife through getting it set up on her phone and she can check things out on her own without my help (if that says anything).I have had success with this system because I allotted time to make it work. If you aren't some what patient and want to learn how to use this system you won't like it. This is not a gaming system you plug in, turn on, and play.Word to the wise; expanding this system to more cameras is more expensive in the long run. I am considering switching to the bigger 2 terabit model that comes with the 8 cameras to save a few $100 bucks on the back end.

Quick and easy setup. Menu system is intuitive enough that you can figure out setup options without need for a instruction book, assuming you have a little bit of technical know-how. The built in PoE ports are great, no additional switch required. Cameras are clear. They do require opening the dome to adjust angle of lens and for mounting. Minor drawback to other cameras I have used in the past. Included patch cables are good quality. Be sure to change the default credentials.... they are on a sticker on top of the unit where anyone can see... Would recommend using with a battery backup unit in event of power outage to keep recording.

Very high quality system, at a very reasonable price!
This surveillance system is REALLY good, the picture quality exceeded expectations. I had an electrician wire/mount the cameras for me, and I programmed the unit myself. The unit is not super user friendly (though not overly unfriendly either). It can be somewhat frustrating that the right-click button on the mouse is a cancel button. I hit this button out of habit seeking a context menu like on a PC, but here it typically closes whatever screen you are in. With that said, as a 'tech guy' I felt relatively comfortable searching my way around the menus and figured out how to operate the system without touching the manual. The daylight camera quality is excellent, and the night vision quality was extremely impressive. I can clearly make out faces of people in super dark conditions. My general impression of the system is that it feels durable, and of high quality materials. I was hesitant, given the fact that this is a gray market version, of a gray market camera system lol. I'm very happy I gave this system a try. NOTE: I hooked this up before I had the electricians out to do the wiring, to make sure it worked appropriately for me. I suggest you do the same :)The POE (power over ethernet) was a key factor in deciding to purchase this unit. A single cable to each camera makes for a smooth installation. And upgrading the cameras (should you ever need to) should be a very simple task.

Great all-in-one system with room for growth.
Fast and hassle free shipping from PoE Depot. No issues there. The NVR that showed up had a different faceplate on it than is shown in the product photos (more buttons), but was essentially the same un-branded HIK Vision box most companies sell with their packages. Setup was as simple as it ever is when installing an NVR on a network and opening ports for outside access... a few painful hours of pulling your hair out... but then, that's not an issue specific to this product, and you're gonna have that fun with any of them out there. Eventually persistence paid off, and the system is stable and available over the net through the Guarding Expert App on my smartphone and iPad, as well as a browser. Speaking of browsers, the only one I could get to show the video stream was Firefox; Safari and Chrome don't seem to want to load the included browser plugin.. but then I didn't spend a ton of time trying to figure it out, I just use Firefox when I want to view the feeds over the web. Your milage may vary.Documentation is delivered on small CD's, the quick-start gets you plugged in, but you're going to have to read the manual to get a grasp of many of the deeper functions and setup menus. All in all, very happy with the quality and service!Cheers

Not User Friendly, No Support, Not Worth It
definitely not user friendly. setting up remote access for viewing is horrible. tried reaching out to the manufacturer but none of the email contacts are working. instructions are horrendous. highly recommend going with a "brand name" rather than taking a chance with this.
