For the crazy runner in your life...
My husband runs, and runs, and runs. This product was recommended in a book all about runners feet (seriously), so I got it for him. He normally uses Vaseline, Glide stick, or Skin Glide, but this is really good for those super long runs or endurance events (25+ miles) where the skin is going to get damaged no matter what you use. This stuff is super thick and will be hard in the tube, but it softens with the warmth of your hand. It has other stuff in the ingredients like antibacterial and antifungal agents, so make sure you read the ingredients list in case you are against something. It's good stuff.

Better than similar products
I bought this when my family was getting together for a Disney vacation. I wanted to ensure we didn't have chafing thighs or sore feet after walking around the Disney parks for hours in the Florida heat. It worked great--none of us had blisters or chafing issues. My boyfriend is a runner and also likes it for marathon training. The great thing about the tube was I could squeeze some out into individual containers for each family member. The consistency, which I expected would be similar to Vaseline, was thicker than I expected so a little goes a long way. I think the tube version is probably more sanitary than a stick since you're dispensing it into your hands to apply it. The tube also allows you to, say, apply it between toes. It washes off well with soap and water. The packaging says it was created by a physician and is wetsuit-safe (if that's a concern) and contains anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agents.Personally I would be happier about using it long-term if it was free of parabens, which I don't think it is (hence the four-star rating). But I'm not aware of any alternatives that are paraben-free either, so at the moment this is probably the best bet for runners or anyone battling chafing.

Kick ass!
I took this on the Camino de Santiago in May/June of 2015. I was skeptical of going with a lubricant since the military had trained me to keep my feet dry, dry and DRY! I cannot recommend this more than by saying "five blisters in 500k in three weeks." I went with almost zero preparation, boots that were one week old and a lot of hope. I developed a blister on day three because I forgot to use it on my heel. The rest were ordinary wear and tear when I got lazy and didn't check my feet as I should have. Everyone's feet are different and this worked for me, even on one episode of crotch chaffing! I saw horrific, Camino ending blisters, even where the blood had soaked through one guys boots. Buy this and try it you probably won't regret it. Yes, the tube is "large" but it was the perfect size for my trip and no bigger than a tube of toothpaste.

Always keep a tube in stock
If chaffing is your concern, this is the antidote. I always keep a tube in stock. I used to do long-distance hiking and Nordic walking "power walking" and wanted something to counter chaffing in sensitive areas. I can only say that this is a "magic lubricant" in that regard. Now that I am older and limit my recreational movement to 4-6 hours per week of walking-centric activity, I still "lube up" on this (very small amount, by the way) before going out. You don't have to lather yourself with this substance, just apply "covering" (like enough to create a line about the length of 1/3 top of your finger) to each sensitive area you are wanting to "protect", and you will be good-to-go for whatever activity you enjoy.

I have trusted this product for the last 20 years!!!
Great lubricant for sports and to prevent chafing. Works way better than plain Vaseline or other moisturizers out there. It's got the advantage of having both an antimicrobial and anti-fungal topical agent.

Great for long runs and race days
I use this on my feet for long runs, races(half mary's and up) and if there is any chance of rain while on a run. It gets on feet and in between toes much quicker than the stick stuff which i use on any part of my body above my ankles. Time is always too short on race mornings so I like being able to coat my feet, get in between my toes quickly to guard against moisture (water stops can get your feet soaked = chaffing etc...). It appears to be close to petroleum jelly in a tube in appearance and has no odor. Just a dab on the hand and it gets in between toes much quicker than the stick stuff as I said.

It's petroleum based and it works OK, but it's a big tube.
This is certainly "more for the money," but I don't think it's anything special. It does have antibacterial/antifungal ingredients, but it's greasy when applied because of the petroleum. I think it's slightly better than using vaseline. This goes double for the feet since that's generally where the athlete's foot occurs. The reason I gave it four stars instead of three is because the tube is much larger for the price than any of the similar products out there.I'll finish the tube as it does prevent chaffing, but probably won't order it again.

No more blisters and no more athletes foot
I had the worst trouble with blisters. No amount of taping, lathering on stuff, etc. helped. For me, this is the one. I do ultra distances at a very slow pace (can anyone really go that slow). This lasts me until my next sock change (I keep large tubes for the beginning of the race and small ones for my drop bags). I also used to suffer from athletes foot, but since I slather this on my feet in massive quantities now all the time, no more athletes foot either (just a side benefit to the no more blisters). Give it a try and you won't go back.
