Flight of the Intruder

Had a VHS version of this film at one time. I think I may have worn it out - a long time ago. Wanted to watch it again hence the purchase of a DVD copy which I now have digitized on my hard drive. Rosanna, Willem & Brad. I loved them all in this movie. Sadly, Brad is no longer with us.

Good action pack movie. This is one movie I will watch again.

Older film, but looks and sounds great on Blu-ray. Wish there was a 4K version, but this works well. Excellent picture and sound.

Great military movie. It shows what airmen during the Vietnam War (or American War, if you're reading this in Vietnam) wanted to do - take the fight to the enemy. A great wish for the airmen that did come true on the big screen. As a retired Air Force member, I can laugh at all the Naval antics on shore leave because today's military makes them VERBOTEN. Carrier Landings in bars in Angeles City or Olongapo no longer exist since the US military was ordered out of there. Still, the guys had great fun letting loose in this movie and then faced death when the time came. In the scene where Willem Dafoe and his pilot have an avionics failure, it made me sit on the edge of my seat, because as a former avionics technician who worked on F-16s, I could feel the fear and subtle panic they were facing during battle. I always ensured my avionics components worked so our aircrews would not experience that sensation. Note: the captain, who was trying the aircrew for disobeying orders, was Fred Dalton Thompson; he wasn't mentioned in the credits for some reason. Great movie and storyline, superb antics by the troops on shore leave, and really cool aerial footage. A must add to your war film collection.

Great movie

Excellent movie to add to my film collection

I saw pieces of this movie once as a teenager, and purchased it in Blu-Ray here on Amazon to re-live it in full HD setup. I have to say that time has truly been kind to this movie, and it's an instant masterpiece in my collection. I own almost every military aviator movie and was missing this one. I am glad I own it now. A great movie that will capture your interest in the characters as well as the aircraft they use. It's nice to re-live the honest, whole sum personalities people had back in the eighties and nineties and sucks that society has deteriorated to the point that it reflects in movies now as well. This film is a great nostalgia trip through the Vietnam era and possesses an outstanding cast as well as some noticable faces of big stars that were then performing early roles. Pick up a copy and enjoy the ride! A+++

Tout à fait conforme à la description, c'est à dire que l'on a le choix entre la VF 2.0 ou bien la VO 5.1 mais sans sous-titres français. Envoi rapide, sans souci.

Tratto dall'omonimo libro di Stephen Coonts, la sceneggiatura attinge molti spunti dai tanti film di aviazione sulla guerra di Corea e del Vietnam, oltre che da Top Gun e da Ufficiale e Gentiluomo - aggiungendo qualche elemento originale (piacevole lo spaccato sulla vita quotidiana a bordo della portaerei, fra cameratismo e goliardia). Si vede volentieri, anche se non è originalissimo. Discreti gli attori e bravo Willem Dafoe - ben inserito nella parte del veterano scafato.

If you don't have a NTSC video player, which is needed for American zone 1 DVDs, then Blu-ray is the way to go in Australia which has the PAL system. Works well with upscaled sound and video.

I have seen this movie dozens of times and still enjoy it every time I watch it. I think this is a better war movie than "Platoon" or "Apocalypse now" . One of my favourite scenes is when one pilot says to the other "I think I could love an ugly woman, I mean you can trust her more. The pretty ones only care about themselves" . The blurb on the back of the DVD says this movie is about a bombing mission. But to me it is about a group of men working and living together on a carrier. They care about each other like a family (slightly dysfunctional). This movie is funny and has great action scenes. It also looks at the war from different points of view and makes you think. But if all you want is mindless entertainment then then you should watch "Top Gun" instead.
