I have a 2003 BMW 530i - a show stopper - I take care of this car like it was my child - this is the third TYC right tail light assembly that I purchased within the last 8 - 9 years - I always seem to have a problem with the passenger side (ORIGINAL LEFT SIDE WAS NEVER CHANGED) - I think I know why they've discontinued this item (I may be wrong) - this is a straight forward installation take off four nuts, disconnect the male plug and take out the rear assembly; just the opposite of course putting in back in - the problem I had with this is that the female plug would not accept the male plug....just wouldn't go in. This is not a job I would have to have to a mechanic, but this is a new light, I didn't want to screw it up & I took it to my mechanic (who personally owns E39's & is familiar with this installation) he had the same problem - it seems the new female plugs have a piece of plastic that seems to be too wide (wider than the older models) and he attempted to bend the plastic over a bit to accept the male plug & that didn't work, after a few more attempts to put the plug in the plastic part broke off....the plug is now in, but it didn't snap in like it was designed to do - hopefully it doesn't come loose, but who checks the specifications on these items??? the way this is made you can't replace that part! this is the last time I will over go to TYC for any products - if I didn't need this light to drive my car, I would have returned it for a refund and purchased another brand - TYC should be ashamed of themselves for producing such an inferior item - there should be someone at their end that does a check that everything works and fits - obviously they don't.....BUYER BEWARE!

I purchased the bmw 2003 530i tail light from this dealer May 22, 2022. Now a circuit board has failed & I have hade to purchase a another tail light. It lasted just over a year. Not happy at all. This does not normally happen this quick.
