Handy tool I didn't know I needed
These are great tools. Sturdy enough to hold up in my bag. I use ergonomic hooks and the sizes have worn off on my most used ones. This tool helps identify the size quickly. It is now always in my hook bag. I have not used the swatch measurement as much but it is also sturdy.

this is the best needle gauge
Of all the similar needle gauges and swatch rulers, this one is the best. It is clearly labeled with both US and mm needle sizes—all sizes and not skipping any—and it is compact and convenient. Great value.

Three Tools in One!
Like all Clover products, this one is made with quality material and thoughtful design: thick plastic and easy to read markings.I primarily bought this for the gauge swatch ruler. I liked that it was a much more accurate 4"/10 cm square hole unlike my metal Susan Bates' one with only an L-shaped hole for measuring. And it's definitely better than using a tape measure! Then there is a second tool for measuring hooks and needles. For crocheters, the tool has notches that identify the size of hooks. This is helpful for those hooks that don't come with a permanent size engraved on them. The same problem is solved for knitting needles, especially circulars. The sizes are listed in US, Japanese, and mm terms. US knitting needle sizes listed are 0-15. Japanese are 0-15, but it's a different circumference from the US! So, all are also identified in millimeters. For crochet hooks, US sizes listed are B-N/P. Japanese are 2/0 through 10/0. Metric sizes are 2.0 through 10.0 mm. It was interesting to learn that Japan has some sizes that the US doesn't, and vice versa. So it's really handy that there is a metric equivalent for each despite the country of origin. My only concern is that, despite the tool being made of a heavier plastic, it's still breakable unlike my aluminum Susan Bates which I've had since the last century, so I'll have to be more careful with it. It's also bigger than the SB, so it will take up more room in my WIP bag. But since I only make a swatch before starting a project and won't need it until the next one, I'll be keeping it safe and separately from my everyday stitching tools.Hope this review helps you! Happy stitching!

Swatch Ruler And Needle Gauge
This needle gauge is a very handy tool because some of my crochet and knitting needles don't have numbers on them. I tested it with needles that still have their numbers on them and they all fit into the accurate holes. I also like that it has a swatch ruler and shows mm and US size. It could be a little thicker but since I only use it for a couple of minutes during a project, it will be fine.

Necessary knitting tools
My handy swatch ruler and gauge tool were disintegrating. I’ve been using them for over 50 years. They were cracked and the printing on them was barely visible. These tools from Clover are great. Easy to use and very sturdy.
