Not a name brand. But pretty amazing. I mainly use this mouthpieces for playing at football games due to its incomprehensible volume that can be produced with just a minimal amount of air. With this alone I can overpower the other 23 saxophones in my section with ease and be heard across the football field no problem. Though I wouldn't recommend it for concert or jazz settings, as a cheap, game day mouthpiece I would want none other.

The Gold Plated Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece works great for me and worth every dollar it cost.

Found this mouthpiece unsatisfactory in terms of performance. Probably will be alright for an intermediate player but does not hold up well under professional standards. May be better suited if it came in a #7D or an #8 C or D.

I noticed a better sound with a synthetic reed
It makes a slight difference in tone but not much. I get the same sound with my Meyer hard rubber piece but reed strength is a major factor; 2.5 for a brighter sound but a 3 makes reaching the altissimo range much more effortless on this mouthpiece. I noticed a better sound with a synthetic reed. It's good for the price so buy it, play with it, work with it and experiment with it. It won't drastically improve your sound the first time you play on it so don't expect too much. You'll find it does the trick once you're comfortable with it and you've developed your own style.

I just got my new mouthpiece today (12/23/2016) and I couldn't any happier with the quality of the sound
Wow! I just got my new mouthpiece today (12/23/2016) and I be couldn't any happier with the quality of the sound. I probably played for two hours straight. This mouthpiece certainly exceeded my expectations. My other mouthpieces are the standard Yamaha 4C and the Meyer MR-402-6MM. In terms of the quality of the sound, hands down, this one is superior to both. I'm using Rico 2.5 reeds and will eventually switch to Vandoren 2.5s just to see if there is any noticeable difference. Don't second guess this purchase especially if your using a starter mouthpiece like the Yamaha 4C. You won't be sorry. To the parents out there with a school-aged child, this mouthpiece will be like music to your ears! Do yourself and child a favor and buy this mouthpiece.

Great value for the money!!!
I purchased this mouthpiece back in January, and so far I am pleased with the results. I have been looking for an inexpensive upgrade for my Yamaha 4C, and this mouthpiece does not disappoint. I would give it 5 stars, except for two things;- It has a tendency to chirp, however that can be fixed with practise. I had to change my embouchure to prevent the chirps, but I can still hear it every now and then.- It plays slightly sharper than the 4C. So you have to bend the note down a tad.Still, I can’t complain – the mouthpiece is great value for the money. It projects well and I now find it easier to hit my high E and F.

IT'S GREAT! TY IT, YOU'LL BUY IT!
Going from a plastic type mouthpiece to a small, slender metal is really a revelation. The metal mouthpiece is quite a bit smaller and has a far better system for holding reeds. I find the metal far more comfortable and able to play much longer without fatigue. The sound it produces is every bit as good as the composition mouthpieces and it produces the full range on my alto. It is so good that I just order a Star Metal Mouthpiece with Gold Plate for my tenor saxophone. Having a smaller mouthpiece in my mouth allows me to relax more as I play as almost anything in ones mouth is a little irritating. To me, smaller is better, particularly when it comes to sticking something in my mouth for extended periods of time.
