Really pleased with this scratch map. When shopping for this product I found many maps to choose from. I chose this one as its colors were quite different to the rest. I'm really glad I opted for this map. I was impressed with the quality of the map. The big deal for me was this is a proper world map, it's pretty well detailed and has quite a lot of information on the map compared to the others I looked at. There are a lot of cities on the map plus it shows all the US states outline on the top layer and underneath. Extra detail like hill shading makes it quite a grown up map. It is lovely to look at and a real centerpiece. I found the colors underneath the scratch material worked really well, they are fairly subtle but vibrant enough, which is a great balance. I'd done my homework before I bought this and saw some of these maps had problems when trying to scratch off places. I used a guitar pick which worked really well. When you scratch, my advice would be to start on the border lines first and work your way in. The scratch material on the top scratch's off pretty easy, so on that note take care when taking the map out of the tube. You don't want to accidentally scratch off places you haven't visited yet by being rough with it. The size of the map is impressive too, making it easy to scratch off even the smallest countries of the world. It's large compared to others out there, and easy to find a frame for a good price. I just need to get around to putting it into the frame! I've traveled across some parts of Europe and the US and this map will be a great way for me to document the places I've been. People have already started to notice the map in my hallway and it's so much fun talking about memories I've had and people I've met along the way. Now I've scratched most of the places off I've already been it's also making me think about booking trips to all the places I haven't been yet, which is still a lot by the looks of the unscratched bits! For me with these concept maps it's all about the map itself, which is beautiful. It doesn't need the other gimmicky bits like magnifying glasses and stickers. If you want something that you're proud to keep in your own home and on your wall then this is the scratch map for you. I'll probably buy this again but this time for a friend. I have buddies that travel so this would be the perfect gift for them. The price was reasonable as well and it came really quickly, so on all counts really happy with my purchase.

I was happily surprised by the quality of this map and it is such a fun and functional gift for someone who travels regularly. If you or a friend are big travelers, this provides a chance for you to share where you’ve adventures with others without a high price or taking up a lot of space - and it couldn’t be easier to use!

Its the perfect size IMO.. I haven't started scratching yet.. I did find a frame at Hobby Lobby that fits it.. like a shadow box.. there's room for mementos ... I think its well made.

Love the color and detail of the map. It was smaller then I expected to read the dimensions. Nice think paper quality.

Bought this for a birthday gift for my best friend who has traveled to a lot of different countries. I am very pleased with the quality and color of the map. It’s large and a great value for what you get! The detail of the map is great! Like looking at an old globe. Love the colors in it! The countries are easily recognizable and I can’t wait for him to use it to scratch off the many places he has been and will go!

This map was a great purchase. Is super clear, looks great in a room, and is easy to scratch off. The shipping was also very professional. It needed some time to lose the curl from being shipped in a tube, but is now looking real nice.

My husband is the hardest person to shop for. He isn't materialistic and would rather go on an adventure than have the latest gadget on the market. I started looking for a map for him to document where he had been since I knew he had never really sat down long enough to look at how much of the country he has seen and compare that with where he hasn't been. I've always had a problem with the maps that hang on the wall of a home or office with little pins in them. It always seemed to me that if a person really traveled, they would want a map as easily movable and resilient as themselves. That, and a pin doesn't tell how you got there... the back roads traveled where you found the quaint diner with the best chicken ever or when you missed a turn and ended up in Virginia instead of Tennessee (that was my fault and is now forever a mark on his Scratch Map for us to remember and laugh about). We move around a lot and this map can roll up and move with us in a second. The surface looks to me like an antique map and I love that it is a very detailed road map underneath. My husband spent a few hours when he first got it scratching off the highways taken and remembering the entire trips he took rather than just a quick pin in the destination. I heard stories I hadn't heard before from travels that happened before we met. He isn't the type to reminisce as he is always looking forward, so it was a rare moment for us that we both truly enjoyed. Thank you to the makers of Scratch USA Map. My husband now wants the world map and would love to have one of just canada as well!

I bought this for my young grandson to keep track of all the countries he has visited in his short life, and to help teach him world geography. His mother was so impressed with the quality, that she asked me to ship her one as well. It’s well made, fairly sturdy, and it’s very easy to scratch off the destinations you have visited, without scratching off the neighboring countries. The countries are colored in different colors, so they are easy to see when you are scratching them off. My grandson is a very well travelled 6 year old, and it’s been very easy for him to use. His mother works and travels all over the world, and she also loves the quality of this map. If you are a traveller, this is a fun map that keeps track of all the countries you’ve visited.
