MZ001 HmayartBlack Sumi Liquid Ink for Japanese Brush Calligraphy & Chinese Traditional Artworks 250ml (Black)

I'm a newbie at sumi-e, but acts the way I expect bottled ink and it's washes to act. It lacks the texture created by grinding the stick ink, so it is harder to control the water. But this ink has good depth of color straight out of the bottle, and a little goes a long way. Bottle is convenient and clean to use, and the ink has a totally acceptable smell.

Rich dark black and flows beautifully. Very nice.

Large bottle for a good price compared to other half size

I’ve used brushes and pens with it and it works very well. The ink is dark and easy to work with and cleanup. Also thoroughly large bottle with good poor spout and closure.

I ordered this to use in my refillable brush pens while I learned brush pen calligraphy, and it's worked beautifully for that. I finally ran out of this bottle after a couple of years of daily practice!The screw-down nozzle on this is a fantastic method that makes this almost impossible to spill, even when packed in my art bag for travel. The ink itself isn't quite as finely ground as it could be, but it's absolutely fine enough to not clog the fiber tips in my refillable brush pens, and of course will work perfectly with traditional brushes as well. It tends to a warm gray when diluted, which is normal for traditional sumi ink.
