3AA(LR6) to D Size Parallel Battery Convertor Adapter Holder (Pack of 4)

I bought these adapters for a vintage-looking lantern that uses D cell batteries. AA batteries are cheaper and more readily available and they work great in these adapters. 💡

These solve a fairly common problem. I have a few older devices (Maglites and Coleman lanterns) that run off of D cells. I don't like keeping a bunch of D cells on hand, and have a ton of AA rechargeable batteries used for a variety of lights and electronics. These adapters take 3 AA cells each and are a perfect replacement for D batteries. In a pinch, I'll use them in emergencies such as when the power goes out. Would buy again.

A simple, cheap way to turn your D-cell-powered device into a rechargeable. Solves the conundrum of what to do with perfectly good older devices that use D cells. You don't want to keep buying those huge throwaway batteries, but you also don't want to buy D-cell rechargeables and the dedicated charger they would need. But but you probably already have lots of AA rechargeables. The key, as noted, is that when you insert the AA's in the carrier, they are wired in parallel, so to the outside world, it looks like a standard 1.5 volt D cell, whether you have 1, 2 or 3 AA's installed. If you don't need that much longevity you can just put in one. Want a little more? Put in two, etc. Low cost. Works like a charm. Highly recommended.

I have a lot of AA Eneloop rechargeable batteries, so these adapters are great for devices that use D cells, without losing loads of run time. The single AA-D adapters that came with the AA Eneloops were convenient, but you had to give up a ton of run time. These 3-AA to D adapters offer 3x the capacity and run time, and that's awesome! Note that a full D cell will still have longer run time, but I don't have a D cell charger, and I can't justify the expense of new batteries and chargers just for my portable fan. The 3AA adapters will run the fan all night while I sleep, with plenty of run time left, so I'm happy with what I've got. Assuming you have enough AA rechargeable batteries, and not many D cell devices, these are a must-have! Note that these are parallel adapters, which means all the batteries face the same direction and the voltage is the same, while the capacity is tripled. There are also series adapters, but you have to be careful with those because they triple the voltage, and that would be very bad for something not designed for the higher voltage. <poof> Again, these are parallel adapters, so they are safe for any D cell device. Also note that because these are parallel adapters, you don't have to fill them up with batteries. They should work fine with one or two AA cells. You'll just have less run time. Don't mix quantities, though, all adapters in use should have the same number of batteries (unless you know what you're doing).

Great solution to save you from buying D-sized batteries and use the AA ones we usually have.

Have used this a few times to sub in for a D battery. Have had no issues with size or fit compared to the real thing. Would definitely recommend to anyone who does not want to buy various sizes of batteries.

I have different versions of the AA to D adapter. They use 1, 2 and upto 3 cells. This 3 cell type is my favorite as not only do you get triple the capacity they will work with fewer cells if required. I have used these in 3D cell Maglights I converted to LED as these will greatly reduce the weight of the flashlight while the LED bulb makes the light more efficient so the reduction in capacity is not noticed. Also I like using these with rechargeable NiMH cells as I never had a NiMH cell leak but Alkalines it’s only a matter of time.
