Nice dependable countdown timer with a special feature
I use this timer to limit the overnight charge on my phone to 80%. I've used it for several years and bought an additional one to control a nightlight. I didn't really think I'd care to review a countdown timer, but this one is sufficiently better than the few other styles available on Amazon that it warrants a brief endorsement.First, it is simple to use and works exactly as you'd expect. Press a time interval and the outlet goes on for that time and then switches off. And it has daily repeat function. But here's why this timer gets 5 stars and its own review:- 1 button for each program means only 1 button press. Some other models require you to press the same button multiple time just to select a time interval. That's infuriating!- IT ALLOWS TIME INTERVALS TO BE ADDED!!! Sorry for shouting, but this is the exciting bit. Virtually every other timer is limited to a small number of timer programs but this timer allows you to combine them! If you want 2 hours, just press the "2 hour" button. But if you want 2 hours and 30 minutes, just press the "2 hour" button, the "+" button, and the "30 min" button. No other style timer on amazon has this flexibility and precision. Bravo for clever design! The only downside is that this unit is only 2 prong, I really wish it came in a 3 prong version.

AWESOME ITEM! Read why i like it so much below! I use it with a soothing ocean wave light!
Im using this for a deep blue sea waves light. That light projects dark blue water waves onto my ceiling and when i lay in bed at night to go to sleep, I look up and see the waves and it calms me. The problem is the last sea waves light I got I kept on 24/7 and it burnt out. I want the light (which costs a lot more than this timer) to last as long as it can, So I set it to turn on around 10PM, and it turns off around 2AM. That way I never have to touch it. Its all automated. How to do that is easy. Hit the 4 hour button at around 10PM, and then hit REPEAT button. Its that simple. You never touch the timer or the light again, and your light goes from burning 24 hours a day to only 4 hours at night. The 4 hours when its appreciated most. You could cut it to 2 hours if that better suits you, or you could bump it up to 6 hours (hit 4 hrs button and 2 hrs button and repeat button) for a dusk to dawn situation. It works like magic. One of the best inventions EVER and SO MUCH better than those annoying "click timers" that are both inaccurate and frustrating to set. This ones so much easier, and it works better. It also helps setting my natural rhythms in my body because when it comes on I know its 10PM and I know I have about 2 hours before I need to be asleep. If I see the light go off I know OH ____ Its 2 AM!!! GET OFF PLAYSTATION!!! lol

Versatile Simplicity For Up To 7 hrs. + 45 min. of Appliance-Timing.
So SIMPLE to set!"Time" buttons on this countdown timer are: 15 min; 30 min; 1 hr; 2 hrs; & 4 hrs., any or all of which can be combined, by pressing its "+" button after the first, for a total timed setting of up to 7.75 hours (7 hours + 45 minutes that is)!For Example: Press "30 Min", then "+", then "2 H" then "3 H" for a total of 5+1/2 hours (there's NO need to press "+" after the first time .. it will stay lit for 10 seconds after first press...allowing you to add more timing increments without having to press it after each button to add/combine more time). In the above example, the "30 Min", "2 H" and "3 H" buttons will REMAIN lit until it shuts off the device connected to it, after 5+1/2 hours (the "+" button's light goes off by itself after 10 seconds following your final timer-button entry)."REPEAT" FEATURE: Say, you've performed the example of the above timed setting at 8:00 pm, THEN pressed "Repeat." The appliance will shut off at 1:30 am. THEN, the NEXT (and every evening thereafter), timer will AGAIN turn on the device at 8:00 pm until "off" 1:30 am.You can also press just the "On/Off" button to KEEP the appliance on until you touch "On/Off" again.I've been using this for a year now to:1- Limit the charge to my smartphone to an 85% charge (today's lithium-ion batteries' overall lifespan is longer when not repeatedly charged to their full capacity...2 hours/15 minutes does it for my phone), and ...2- Operate my large window fan for periods during cooler summer nights/wee-early morning hours. No problems yet with the timer.LOVE IT!

This can save your rechargeable items!
I love this and now have 2! I use it for my rechargeable dust buster's and swivel swiffer's.When I get things like that, I charge it up fully (usually instructions have 16 hours) and then turn it on, let it run down fully (it can take hours but in the long run it's worth it and instructions usually tell you to do it)Then, you charge up again maybe 8 hours and it's ready to use! Being able to set for a certain length of time and forget it, is great! If you accidently leave something plugged in to a regular outlet and it charges for say 24 hrs, it won't hold a charge as long but being able to set for certain length of time, in the long run, THIS WILL!Most things when run down or knowing it's losing charge, I charge 4 hours to start and then maybe another 2-4. Plug in, set timer, forget it!

Very good function! (UPDATE on 6-2-2022 = 50v 100µF capacitor goes bad)
Very nice to be able to add up all times for a total of 7 hours 45 minutes. This timer is much more "time customize-able" than other similar timers. It's ETL Listing rating is as good as/the same as a UL Listing. At the time I ordered this timer, I also ordered a "BN-LINK Smart Digital Countdown Timer with Repeat Function" timer. This one:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D3QEK4E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The BN-LINK timer arrived DOA! Yes, the BN-LINK timer has a ground, but if I ever run into a situation where I have a grounded plug, I'll use an adapter to "get rid" of the ground.UPDATE ON 6-2-2022: Changing my rating from 5-stars to 4-stars. The timer is still very handy to use, but the internal 50v 100µF capacitor goes bad, and the unit fails to stay on = prior to turning off, the lit-up buttons are not stable and flicker... The solution is to remove (de-solder) and replace (re-solder) this capacitor! Use a good quality Japanese 50v 100µF capacitor as a replacement. I have now repaired qty. 2 of these timers by replacing the 50v 100µF capacitor.
