Perfect seeds for my Chamorro red rice
Hafa adai! For all you Chamorros wanting to make red rice these are the seeds that you need. I like it because they come in this nice container that I can store my pantry. Great taste and great value. Now it’s time to make some finadene while my ribs are on the grill.

Essential for Puerto Rican Cooking
It's a little bit hard to find achiote (annato seed) in the stores here in California (though not impossible), especially in this size. This brand is excellent, the seeds were very fresh and good. There's not much else to say about the quality. My mother, aunts, and grandmother always kept an aluminum shaker can (like a large salt shaker for a restaurant's kitchen) in the kitchen which contained achiote seeds in oil or lard. It would be warmed-up when needed and some oil would be strained out to use in various recipes, such as arroz con gandules, arroz con pollo, pasteles, tostones, emapanadillas, you-name it.You just can't cook authentic PR food without achiote.

Good value
There is ALOT of seeds in here and I still have it after a few months. I'm used to going to the Filipino store and buying smaller jars for 3-4 dollars. It is a little bit pricey but it was worth the money for me because i cannot find this anywhere in my area. No complaints! Flavor is how it's supposed to taste

Love Love Love this Achoite
Being Puerto Rican making fresh sofrito and using achoite / annatto seeds is such a huge part of my family's way of cooking.Well with all this Covid mess I couldn't make the drive to the market into the city. I turned to the internet and tried a few different brands of achoite seeds. These are by far my favorite and I have been recommending them to family. To use I use about 1/4 of seeds in about a 1/2 of vegetable oil. I let it come to a simmer and allow it to simmer until the oil is a dark orange red in color. The color is always deep and rich. I love love love!! Perfect for my arroz con linguisa and my arroz con gondules.I will be buying this from now on.

Good source of tocotrienals, one of the natural vitamin E complex.
I just finished making some of that really pretty orange oil for myself following these instructions from DR. Al Sears, because it is a very good source of vitamin E . " My favorite source of tocotrienols is annatto oil. Annatto has mixed tocotrienols (lots of alpha and gamma) and you can make it yourself. The only two ingredients you need for making homemade annatto oil are annatto seeds and an oil base.Annatto oil is difficult to buy, but you should be able to buy annatto seeds at a local health food shop. If you’re making a cup of annatto oil you’ll need a cup of oil and 6 tablespoons of annatto seeds. One-and-a-half cups of annatto oil will require 1-1/2 cups of oil and 9 tablespoons of annatto seeds. Combine the oil and annatto seeds in a small saucepan, and place them over medium heat. When the oil starts to bubble, remove the pan from the heat. Let the seeds soak in the hot oil for 30 minutes, until the oil has largely cooled, and the seeds have a chance to fully infuse the oil. Place a strainer over a glass jar and pour the oil through the strainer. Catch the seeds and throw them out. Cover the jar tightly and place in the refrigerator.Your homemade tocotrienol-rich annatto oil will keep for up to eight weeks.

To Make Puerco Pibil
You'll need a spice grinder because this is pretty much a container of little rocks. But the flavor is wonderful. I started buying them to make Puerco Pibil by Roberto Rodriguez's recipe. (He's a film director.) The flavor is wonderfully rich. The recipe is so good that I actually can it to make tacos and such. I don't know how anyone could sufficiently grind them up before mechanical grinders, so get a dedicated spice grinder (coffee will change the flavor, so just keep one just for spices.) This is a great spice and you'll discover new uses for it.

Good Quality
My wife is from Venezuela and asked me to get her some of this stuff to make hallacas. She said it is of good quality and the price seems OK to me so we are both happy.
